I hate the trend of politics and social issues lately, the division. All the pitting against one another and taking sides.
However, with covid, all the people who support the lockdowns and restrictions have really fooled themselves. When you ask, “who can I help,” you’re already deceiving yourself. The full question is really, “who can I help by hurting someone else I don’t think is as valuable?”
All the people who need “help” during this pandemic have a really easy way to help themselves; stay home, if they want, and live in a bubble of isolation. Covid would have torn through the population much quicker and we’d be past immunity by now, and the people who wanted to stay safe could have easily made that decision.
But no, our leaders felt it was necessary to hurt many instead of hurt a few. Tricked people by saying, “if you just _____ you can SAVE LIVES!”
It’s the biggest load of bull crap I’ve witnessed in my life. Nobody cares about saving lives. Every single hypocrite saying we have to follow the rules because it can save lives does the following: drives, and drives distracted.
People die in car accidents every single day; if we cared about lives, we would stop driving cars. Funny how people don’t seem to think that’s an issue.
I get the same rebuttal: “well we have driving laws and stuff to make it safer.” We still have deaths, all the time.100% preventable if all the “heroes” out there would stop driving the car and advocate others to do the same.
You wanna save lives? Tell grandma and grandpa that if they want to have family over, it has to be outside and socially distant for a year. That would save their lives
Me? I could have gotten covid. I would have lived. My kid would have lived. You’re not saving my life and I never asked you too. All you’ve done is put me out of work for a year, encouraged my wife to fall back into her suicidal depression, encouraged myself to fall into a bit of hopeless depression, encouraged my sister to fall into a depression because her friends/landlords shunned her for breaking covid rules, took away my in-law’s education for a year, and made an entire state full of weird people who think they need to wear a mask when they go for a walk.
Or, and hear was my least favorite experience during a temp job delivering boxes: I didn’t wear a mask (because I’m not stupid). One day I’m dropping off a box to a house and a guy and his 4-5 yr old daughter was out front. I said, “good afternoon,” as I’m rummaging for his package. I start walking towards the door. He has his hands full so I didn’t go towards him, but his daughter was near the porch. He immediately says to his daughter, “Emma, come here...come here NOW.” Caps are used only emphasize sternness. Let me mention, he was wearing his mask while on his front lawn, and me, mr Danger Covid Man, was not. The subtle lesson he taught his daughter, in my eyes, was a tragedy. “Stay away from people. Maybe even fear certain people.” She was excited to see a guy dropping off boxes right up until her dad subconsciously made her aware she shouldn’t be

You're sad that someone told their kids to stay away from your irresponsible self? Aww..
You might have not seen COVID up close, but 560,000 families have.
Theres been a lot of tragedies that have happened during this pandemic. But pretending COVID isn't real and we did all this just to be mean to you is just childish.
If your family has a history of depression, I encourage you to seek help. But don't blame people wearing masks for it.

It's an interesting story to be sure, the one theme that sticks out to me is how self-absorbed it is.

Wow looks like Texas has the lowest 14 day average Covid infection numbers since last June despite what we were told was going to happen when this thread was started! 🤷🏼♂️ That’s weird since they are fully open and we were led to believe that it was to lead to mass graves!

Maybe 400000Dead and his alter egos should consult the CDC report showing most NPI especially weren’t very effective. But, then, Saint Fauci wouldn’t be pleased at the CDC...oh wait, what?

Further; ironic that when my wife has suicidal depression, the burden is on her. But when someone is at risk of covid, better drop everything.
Real fair

Your wife has my sympathy and I hope she can find the help she needs. But in all fairness to COVID, you can't spread suicidal depression by breathing on someone. So that's a poor comparison.
I just found out tonight that I have another friend in the hospital with double pneumonia from COVID. This nightmare won't end because you idiots won't mask up.
COVID is real.

That said, my man, you are King Troll. No way you end this post with “COVID is real,” after calling us idiots for not masking up. We’ve all been masking up! For a year! And all believe that CV is a real thing.
Brah, many props. You the man. Freal. You almost have to have a really twisted brain to keep this going as well as you do. Much respect to you and your craft.
