I miss the whole crew from 60 Minutes. But if I watch TV news I usually watch CBS. Nostalgia I guess. Like watching CBS Sunday Morning which seems to be a 50yr running episode of American Pickers. At least the CBS evening news always ends with a good story.

OBESITY RATE: Coronavirus deaths per million:

US 36% 1709

Korea 5% 34

Japan 4% 73

Israel 26% 678

Vietnam 2% 0.4

Canada 29% 607

Hong Kong is a territory not a country so no WHO data for them.

Isn't the correlation obvious. It is clear that we are fat and unhealthy and that is why we had so much death.

Did you just fat shame... we aren’t allowed to talk about the detriment of obesity anymore!

Positive thoughts only!

Now now, can’t be critical of that in any way. You are supposed to ignore inconvenient facts to spare people’s feelings.

Using mortality data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and the World Health Organization (WHO), the team discovered that of 2.5 million Covid-19 deaths reported by the end of February, 2.2 million were in countries where more than half the population is overweight. Mortality rates also increased along with countries' prevalence of obesity. The researchers also noted that the link persisted even after adjusting for age and national wealth. The findings follow hundreds of worldwide studies, which also confirmed the increased need for medical care for Covid-19 patients who are overweight, the report notes. A study in China found overweight people had 84% increased odds for developing a severe form of the disease. Another US study found obese people were more than twice as likely to need hospitalization and more than six times as likely to die, or need mechanically assisted breathing, after developing Covid-19.

“Hell yeah man! Those fatties don’t deserve to live!”

You are really that ok with sounding like that?

Obesity has been an easy scapegoat for COVID deniers since the very beginning.

We, as a nation, should take a hard look at the obesity epidemic.

But I recall ya'll had a problem with that too.

He’s not able to see reality. He’s fat shaming people, as if that was solution to the pandemic. His solution I mean quite literally is to kill off all the obese and fat in the country which is like half of it so he can go to the restaurant in peace.
