Texas reopens to 100%, rescinds mask mandate

That's great! I don't care who you vote for. One person = one vote.
But don't come at me with your lame insults and not acknowledge that the GOP is doing everything in its power to disenfranchise urban voters while empowering wealthy suburban and rural voters.
You just can't deny it. I don't care how many names you call me. How's your mom?

Borrowing from the National Popular Vote website:
The origins of the myth about big cities may stem from the misconceptions that big cities are bigger than they actually are, and that big cities account for a greater fraction of the nation’s population than they actually do. In fact, 85% of the population of the United States lives in places with a population of fewer than 365,000 (the population of Arlington, Texas—the nation’s 50th biggest city).
This is easily verifiable via census data.

Also if you look at the recent Georgia runoff election, the Republicans were winning hands down until the population centers of the big cities were counted. Then the percentage swayed towards the Democrats. It’s the same in my State, Colorado, Denver and the immediate outlying cities control the vote.

The topic is masks, keeping the thread in mind, I watched idiocies today that reflect the common belief that COVID, a contagious respiratory not unlike the common cold in transmission characteristics, is in fact some super virus with transmission characteristics of sarin gas.
Why would someone:
The Missionary Bush Pilot (great YT channel, btw) was asked in an interview about COVID in PNG. He’s answer was classic, paraphrasing, “with TB and Malaria, COVID is pretty much in the background and not a thought given. This is a first world problem for people who grew up thinking nothing could endanger their safe little box.
Why would someone:
- Wear a mask outdoors in the rain with a 20mph wind blowing, not another soul in 100 yards?
- Wear a mask alone in a sealed up car
- Wear a mask outside in that same 20mph wind ordering an ice cream cone, again the other person was my 20’ away, crosswind?
- Wear a mask indoors, all alone scooping ice cream and serving it thru a sliding window?
- Why does mentioning “I’m fully vaccinated” get a shrug when all the science says that’s pretty good protection? If vaccination was supposed to be the solution, it doesn’t look that way at a Quest Diagnostics office?

Speaking of entitled, it is COVID warriors like YOU, who believe themselves entitled to tell others how to live. As I’ve repeatedly, I’ll follow the rules, but the rules are totally UN backed by science. Wearing a mask alone in a car or walking across an empty parking lot in rain isn’t integrity, it isn’t science, it’s fear-driven nonsense brought on by COVIDiots who are all too happy to be Puritan scolds. And the proof in that is, you don’t want to stop. We’ll be wearing masks in 2059 if you could get away with it.

- There’s no points for setting a good example by walking alone in rain masked—it’s just fear
- Uber deliveries in a Lexus SUV? Really?
- No one has shown ice cream can transmit viruses, if so, why haven’t we been wearing masks in every restaurant for the last 50 years. The stand hasn’t done used masks for the decade I’ve gone there, They didn’t do that even in Asia.
- Integrity is now virtue signaling? Show me a study proving masks stop vaccinated people from transmitting a disease, please. If vaccines didn’t stop transmission, they wouldn’t work very well.
2. ....you never said Lexus SUV, but as an added bonus there is an actual added option to request fancy cars specifically on Uber so.....yes? Duh.
3. No study has proven that it hasn’t. But it’s a virus that is spread by droplets, so I would imagine a droplet falling into a liquid which is then infested could probably do it while surviving the couple minutes of freezing temps on the way there. If I were serving any type of food these days I would be masked.
4. (5?) integrity is believing that masks work and wanting people to use them so leading by example even in situations they are not required or when others claim it is too difficult. Whatever signals or triggers you is your business. And that’s exactly my point. We don’t know yet if it prevents it. It probably does but what’s the harm in being safe?

1. I’m really sorry that you are so afraid of masks. But yeah, for me it’s leading by example and it keeps my face warm on windy rainy walks.

Somehow, I actually think you’re serious about this, that you are someone very special and can change the world by wearing a
mask all alone. Excellent. I’ll wear mine where required, without hesitation, but I won’t for an instant believe it does any good.
What is hilarious is watching the self-anointed, self-righteous claim t9 be on a mission to save us—the perversions of religion are awesome, if they weren’t so cruel.
