Pretty sure that NEJM study mainly proves the existence of asymptomatic spread, which is another issue I have seen widely disputed here. Also, they were following guidelines including social distancing and MASKING. Im not saying that masks means zero spread. But I’m also, not seeing the other apple of an unmasked equivalent being the same or better. In fact the biggest takeaway from this that the Navy seems to have is that mitigation measures need to be augmented to include widespread and repeated testing ( https://www.navy.mil/Press-Office/News-Stories/Article/2413465/navymarine-corps-covid-19-study-findings-published-in-new-england-journal-of-me/ ).
Over the last year many studies have been linked to prove the efficacy of mask wearing, only to fall on deaf ears.
Facts only temporarily disrupt the constant crying about how the burden of masks is just too much to bear for these fragile souls.
Best to let them cry it out. And occasionally point and laugh.

I'm flattered. But get a grip.

I commend you for attempting to bring evidence and a nuanced approach to this forum of entrenched COVID deniers.

BTW, I wear a mask when it’s seems reasonable—inside environments where I don’t know the people and staying apart is difficult. I don’t hang out at bars or movies, I have now been fully vaccinated which apparently despite every study proving their efficacy means nothing to the fear pornographers from governments and the clown show of their supporters.

STOP, just stop with stupid death cult meme. Why would anyone who hasn’t been a follower of this COVID just happen to show spouting out your BS right out post One.

This is as silly as any of posts. I doubt any of us DENY COVID, we’re just pointing out “fear porn”, the statistical facts that different populations have different outcomes and no one has yet produced a diminutive study on whether masks work and have produced the results claimed. Mask supporters have even claimed masks work and then decried how people used them.
You are the last person I would ask if mitigation is warranted or just "fear porn."

My bad, guys. I didn’t realize that it was impossible for anyone to be a lurker on a message board for a long time and then decide to make an account and make a post about something they care about. Or that there was no way that more than half a dozen or so pilots felt differently than most people here.
Not sure about the same cloth business either. I’m a former ag pilot from Tennessee and I’m not familiar with all the identity politics here other than the fact that it’s a thing. Guess it’s a big thing.

The science I've seen shows that asymptomatic spread is not common, and usually does not lead to severe/fatal cases of COVID:

This may be why there is little or no reasonable evidence that masks are effective, because where we wear masks are areas where COVID isn't typically spread.
Lockdowns were ineffective in almost all cases:

(Yet most of Europe remains stuck in their basements)
Models tell you what you want them to tell you, and most of the time they were wrong:

I can say proudly, I’ve never been in an Applebee’s and I suspect you are using that restaurant for a reason. You ought be more careful making assumptions. I can name the one restaurant I have eaten in since Feb 20th, 2020 and two restaurants where I did take-out, eating a Frank Pepe’s pizza in my car.
Somewhat related, I haven’t had a cold in, at least, five years. It’s not hard to avoid respiratory diseases—wash your hands and face, avoid large crowds in unventilated places, keep your hands away from your face.

The post has since been deleted due to the egregious nature of it and the subsequent outrage, but I distinctly remember you saying, and I'm paraphrasing:
"I'm going to take some heat for this, but I'd rather have 1 million dead than have all these ridiculous lockdowns."
Did you not say that?
