Dangerous Covid-19 variants could mean all bets are off on the road to normalcy, expert warns

Except science shows the variants are not more dangerous:

Fauci predicted two months ago that the US would be in a third wave right now, originating from the states that "opened up too early". That hasn't happened, and the states that have opened up do not have the highest case numbers.

The dishonesty coming from what the media defines as "experts" has been absolutely shocking. The Salem Witch trials had more rationality than the nonsense that has originated from these self absorbed, dishonest experts. I have no idea why the government hasn't been exposed and sued for their continued dishonestly and catastrophic economic and social damage.
Reading through your reference material. It appears as if the variants are more contagious and lead to more hospitalizations. I have no issue with what your point is and tend to agree with you on the “fear porn” topic.. I’m not sure your material supports your perspective.. I’m not a medical expert and am just applying my basic pilot understanding. My understanding of the natural course of these diseases is for the disease to become more contagious and less deadly.

Point taken. I was under the impression after reading that once accounting for underlying factors like obesity there is no statistical correlations that the variants are more severe and deadly.

The case numbers in the UK and South Africa, theoretically where these variants originated from I think support this.

After reading through your material again I think I see where your deriving that from. I also agree the South Africa and UK numbers are extremely low, there is always going to be some new variant that the fear machine will point to. If not we won’t click on their articles / websites.

I’m pretty sure he looks in the mirror and recites Stuart Smalley while listening to the media portray reality.

A couple of scipps research doctors on my wife’s zoom yesterday mentioned thier not nearly as concerned about the variance as they were a few weeks ago. New modeling showed spread numbers for San Diego county much lower. Thought I’d share the good news.

No, lockdowns were imposed after the surge. Just like any state that had surges. That’s how numbers went down. Are you just trying to sound cool on an internet argument or do you actually care about what you’re saying?

Have you seen the charts/data that show this? I haven't, they don't exist because lockdowns don't work.

What do you mean? What happened to the cases after lockdowns were imposed?

I enjoyed my 4 week light lockdown this time last year in Florida, it was a nice change of pace before continuing on with life while wearing a mask and taking reasonable sensible precautions.
