Texas reopens to 100%, rescinds mask mandate

Yea that’s got to be it, they’re down because they lifted mandates. Even with all these people immune or vaccinated. Still though what about Florida, how are their cases looking? What about the infection percentage for Texas and Florida? Still a bit higher than California huh?

The point was never that lifting restrictions would reduce cases. The point that you so artfully try to dodge again and again is that the restrictions don't move the needle. California and Florida are still neck and neck with deaths per million. The spring breakers will raise the case count but since they don't mingle with the over 70 crowd at the 5PM dinner special at the local cafeteria it won't affect deaths in any measurable way.
EDIT: Oh, by the way California still beat Florida in new cases yesterday even with no spring break and restrictions in force at the beaches.

As far as your article, I don’t know what reality you’re living in. Look at the daily rates and 7 day averages compared to Florida right now, today. Not only is it twice as high but FL is trending up. Don’t know what to tell you man. I guess they should shut down testing to bring the numbers down huh?

You still don’t get it. Florida did significantly worse than CA up until the winter surge, it wasn’t even close regarding cases. The tighter restrictions happened after the surge in CA. So now that you know, CA and FL being neck and neck, which is actually false if you really look at what’s going on, CA has a much lower positivity rate but even given that they don’t prove anything regarding restrictions not working. Nothing, zero. You’re cherry picking, plenty of states that disprove your notion where less restrictions like Florida had much higher death rates and cases. CA is twice as populated as FL with about half the population of FL living in LA alone. Still did better with the numbers and wouldn’t even been close had it not been for the winter surge. They were saying that was most likely due to a more contagious regional strain, among other reasons. So actually FL would have done even better if they had stronger restrictions where as CA did all they could with a much more populated state and they still did better. You really don’t see this? They’re totally different states, there’s more going on in CA in every way compared to Florida.

So what you're saying is that once Florida stopped enforcing restrictions last Nov. and the winter surge got going and California imposed more restrictions, California quickly surpassed FL in deaths. Seems about right.

Current US hot spots are New York, Michigan and New Jersey per the New York Times this morning. Note they are not the states that are the most open. This is a common theme throughout the pandemic, states with the most repressive response usually had the worst outcome. Same in Europe, take a look at Germany now.
The dishonest and irrational fear porn from the government continues:

Fauci predicted two months ago that the US would be in a third wave right now, originating from the states that "opened up too early". That hasn't happened, and the states that have opened up do not have the highest case numbers.
The dishonesty coming from what the media defines as "experts" has been absolutely shocking. The Salem Witch trials had more rationality than the nonsense that has originated from these self absorbed, dishonest experts. I have no idea why the government hasn't been exposed and sued for their continued dishonestly and catastrophic economic and social damage.
