Now let’s examine those fortunate enough to work from home, or those deemed essential (e.g, pilots, doctors, etc.) who can still work and take little to no pay cuts. Do you really think those working in Big Tech or High Finance felt the blunt of the pandemic? How do you think their lives changed?
Sure, they don’t have the luxury to go out to restaurants or frequent sports stadiums, but all that money they’re saving is being funneled into the stock market.
With the market near all-time highs, these people are becoming wealthier.

It’s very obvious how it happened. What do you think happened when half of the small businesses in this country were forced to shut down? Many people spent their entire life’s savings in making their businesses run, and then the government forces them to close. I wonder how great they were doing in unemployment for all those months.

what you described as the class able to benefit - its more white collar urban dwelling elites - maybe 10% (I don't really know or care)
Also, of course, mostly the Blue leaning population.
Also the political elite serving those same urban blue leaning populations.
I see it more of a Government power grab using the crisis as the lubricant - what is that rahm emmanuel quote?

So since you’ve placed yourself, a pilot, in the same group as those unaffected along with the other “wealthy” will you commit to seeking out an unemployed waiter and give him some of your cash since you did so much better than him last year? Oh you won’t? Then thanks for caring so much about the other guy.
The question is is it moral to kill off the poor, unhealthy, obese and old in this pandemic so that that waiter can get paid? The correct answer is no. He works in a non essential field, he should get on unemployment. The government did not shut down all business. Non essential business were closed temporarily or reduced capacity. The small factories never closed, the retail shops are all opened Only restaurants, hair dressers and tourism , including travel industry got hit hard. I bet that same guy who still doesn’t have a job, will find one very quickly and the old and fat still kept their lives.
As far as the age old question of the wealthy always doing the super duper unfair wealthy thing, if only there was a way to take some of their money and distribute it to the not so wealthy.
