Someone not getting along with the spouse during a pandemic has nothing to do with the pandemic.
They probably shouldn’t be together to begin with. That’s not our fault. Same thing can be said about every other negative byproduct of the pandemic.
If you’re jumping off the bridge or getting wasted, you’ve got other issues.
You would have had a very tough time convincing people to get infected so Tim can step off the ledge.

I was going to type a response about how
1) Tammy works in a hotel and Bob is a cook in a diner. They both lost their jobs because the hotel cut its staff and the restaurant closed permanently. They never fight, especially in front of the kids, but now they are losing their house.
Knob's Solution: They should have never been together in the first place.
2) Tim was finally starting to make some friends in school after moving to the area. Doing remote learning, he has difficulty focusing on school work and hasn't interacted with peers for a long time.
Knob's Solution: He jumped off a bridge because... issues.
3) Susie really liked her 1st grade teacher. She finished out the year online but has struggled and fallen behind her classmates in learning how to read. She repeated the 1st grade starting last fall but even after finally getting back to in-person school in January, she may have to repeat 1st grade again.
Knob's Solution: She graduates high school at age 20, but, that's her problem
4) Michelle has turned to day-drinking. She normally waited until Saturday night with friends, but it helps relieve the stress of her husband's paycut and home-schooling the kids.
Knob's Solution: she is developing an addiction, but that's not our fault
but then i realized you don't appreciate there are externalities to the draconian measures put into place to give an 82 year old who lives in a place that smells like poop and death - an extra 4 months to live.
No empathy for those who weren't declared by the dictator to be an "essential worker" or part of the zoomocracy.
The narcissism is real.

Oh please, plenty of people lost their jobs and are on unemployment. Plenty of kids stalled out in studies. Yet they never advocated killing off their fellow citizens or infecting them. Stop using their hardships for you own reasons.

Knob, that prior post explained pretty well the real life effects this pandemic / lockdown has had to be able to hurt people, yet you are so ignorant of the experiences of others, you aren’t seeing the concepts that this pandemic is causing serious harm even to people who normally otherwise don’t struggle.
The ultimate irony, I feel, is that you find it perfectly reasonable to subject a society to social isolation and lack of work in order to protect about 2% of the population, and that 2% is full of people who have on avg 2.5 comorbidites.
So on one hand you say, “that person is depressed and turned to drugs because they lost their job and is falling behind on rent? They’re just weak, they need to get control of their life. That’s not our problem.”
And then on the other hand you say, “there’s a virus out there that >70% of its victims are overweight / obese (a self-inflicted condition); everyone needs to work together and try to protect them.”
How do you feign caring about people so much with one thought, and callously disregard others with your next? It’s almost as if you’re just in constant argument mode and you can’t concede to any reality that suggests that any part of your view of this pandemic might be wrong

Gulag Archipelago is a good read.
Look at where the 1.9 trillion will go. Just follow the money.
