You posted a link to NBC showing fauci saying Covid isn’t comparable to flu. All you’re doing is proving how much of a hypocrite he is. In my post I said on March 11 Fauci claimed on national TV Covid is a lot deadlier than the flu . Then, on March 26 (26th comes after the 11th) he wrote that it is comparable to a severe flu season. So which is it? If time tables were reversed you might have an argument. In early March the “experts” were already saying 2 million people were gonna die. So why would Fauci back that argument up on the 11th but then 2 weeks later on the 26th he would compare it to a severe flu season?

second, claiming Fauci says reopening schools is complicated does not support your argument either. The director of the CDC said flu kills 5-10 times more kids than Covid. So how is that complicated? What is your argument to ever return to school? Flu will always be around. If we close school for Covid, then how does it make even an ounce of sense to ever return to school ever again if we listen to the CDC? Why should kids be allowed to attend school while a virus that is 5-10 times deadlier than Covid is haunting them in the hallways?

Either basic logic and math isn’t you’re strong suit or you’re deciding to listen only to the most negative opinions from the “experts” and completely ignore everything else they tell us.

the actual science and math supports opening up. The only thing that is contradictory is the OPINIONS and ASSUMPTIONS of the “experts”. There is no actual recorded data, math, or science anywhere including from Fauci and the CDC that shows we are better off closed down.

the good thing about Texas opening up is that you are still allowed to lock yourself indoors and be terrified from the comforts of your own home from a virus with a 99.98% survival rating (per the CDC). Nobody is forcing you to go out into public. Let everyone else be normal and you can continue to cower in fear.

The OG in Llano or nothing at all!!!

I’m just kidding, I bet their location in New Braunfels is just as amazing. I’m just a stickler for tradition.

Public school districts and administrations are filled to the brim with lazy people who don't want to work. That's the issue. The harm being caused by a lack of social interaction, lack of club activities and team sports, and a lack of extracurricular activities ranging from STEM to the Fine Arts is probably immeasurable. That doesn't even include the additional harm being caused to children who are having to act as parents because they're home with their siblings while their actual guardians work during the day, or the children who would normally rely on the free breakfast & lunch programs for their only 2 meals of the day.

I have assumed for quite some time that any individual advocating for schools remaining closed doesn't actually care at all about the children they're talking about. Their stance is not only not supported by science, psychology, or sociology - it also simply doesn't make logical sense.

Last I checked, the beauty of freedom is being able to go outside knowing there are adequate policies and procedures in place to protect you and others from senselessly contracting a virus. If your value of human life is so low that you don’t care to look out for your fellow man, maybe you’re the one who should stay inside so everyone else who actually cares about masking up and taking care of each other can go outside and get things done.

515,000+ dead in the US but all you see is 99% survival, and I bet you also claim to be “pro-life” too. There’s a fun contradiction for you, but hey, basic logic is one of your strong suits right By the way, plenty of survivors stay in a hospital bed for months, and many more have lasting side effects from the virus, but I guess that doesn’t matter to you.

And also, since you didn’t seem to read or comprehend my point at all, it was that it’s too early to take off our masks and stop socially distancing. Not that we should remain “shut down” indefinitely.

With all due respect, people have been wearing masks, social distancing and listening to the guidelines. This is not cowering in fear. They are doing their part to save lives and still keep the country going. I think you misconstrued what is required of you with this Texas reopening, if you live there. It’s not about being normal, it’s about taking self responsibility instead of requiring mandates. Texas opening up does not mean the pandemic is over, I hope you realize this.

You all keep arguing as if any of what you write means a thing. Well it doesn’t, accept for the Texas barbecue advice. Now that’s something we can chew on!

Of course I’m sure some of you more fearful cautious types are also against eating meat. And would for Heath and or animal rights they would take that away too.

I’ve been toying with beef ribs at home. We just aren’t fans. Tastes too much like a roast. Brisket is still our favorite but so much damn work. Just wish I could find a decent place in FL for the times I don’t feel like firing up the smoker.

Natural selection means the variants come out of lockdown areas as the virus evolves past mitigation measures. That's why the UK, South African, and the new California variants, came out of those lockdown places.
