He gambled with the health of us as Americans and lost. Sadly, in the process, way too many Americans than needed to, also lost.... their lives.

My Trumper friends, POTUS does not care about us. He cares only about himself, his ego, and his extraction from the financial hole he's in, and your strident support for him simply provides a means to his own selfish ends.

He is an accidental president who never intended to win. This whole charade that began in 2016 was simply a PR stunt, that "backfired" on him.

And the rest is history......
Who was the last President that actually cared about us?

I say W actually genuinely cared for all the American people. Still earned him the “treatment” from the media, tho.

Its about policies. Is Trump a great guy? No. Darn good policies, tho.

Besides the lying, touching, and sniffing, Joe seems like a nice enough guy. Bracing for his policies, however.

Funny how fascism gets thrown around on both sides of the discussion. Trump isn't a fascist or Hitler but let's review a few things that he has done:

- continual assault on the free press
- censorship of government agencies that he didn't like
- a continual shakeup of cabinet members and agency heads that weren't favorable to him
- casting doubt about the integrity of our election process
- use of nationalist rhetoric
- claims of higher knowledge than generals, scientists and subject matter experts of all sorts
- no attempt to bridge the divide in the country and in fact often stoked it
- stoking violence in his speeches
- demonization of immigrants
- spreading of false information/continuous lying
- coddling current autocrats

Looking at these things one can make of it what they want, but to me those are fascist tendencies. Whether willful or out of a complete ignorance of competent governance is up for debate.

It is...just like my opinion man...of the things he has done.

That said, which of the bullet points are factually wrong?

Historically pandemics have been. This one is actually milder than many.

But yep, every death is a tragedy.

is it?

it was declared a pandemic in March, per your provided link. It is 8 months old, and with a current death total worldwide of 1,300,576 deaths: https://www.who.int/emergencies/dise...ronavirus-2019

Or 162,572 deaths a month. Take this out 12 months and the 1-year death rate will be 1,950,864. Almost 2M deaths annualized.

The 7 year old AIDS epidemic, from your link, with 36M deaths, is 7M a year. Bad deal. But innocent bystanders can't get AIDS/HIV by somebody sneezing next to them. Airlines did not take sanitation and cleaning measures because of HIV.

1968 Flu was 1M. Current Flu death rate is up to 650K a year, worldwide. https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-s...enza-(seasonal)

we can go back prior to 1950 but my point is made.

None of the pandemics on your link impacted air travel like COVID. Many of them were pandemics before the airplane was invented.

Excuse me. I was posting about the deaths of human beings being a tragedy, not the effect on airline travel.

My bad. Wherever did I lose my priorities...
