You are being pendantic.

Mesabah wants to use a non-peer reviewed paper from Medrxiv as some kind of definitive proof that the public health recommendations/policies from the CDC and every other civilized country’s health department are somehow not valid.

For that purpose, Medrxiv is self-admittedly not a suitable source. So let’s just say it’s not suitable rather than not reliable. For some obscure researchers doing something other than what we are discussing (public health policies), perhaps it’s a “reliable” source.

Some folks around here like to practice cognitive dissonance despite factual data continually being presented to them. They are either trolling or purposefully being obtuse knowing they can't win the argument truthfully. Not worth the effort at times.

Yes, but you went to Cabela's yesterday as well. The virus spreads, as does any stochastic process, to mask wearers at the same rate as non-mask wearers.

My brother comes over last month for my son's birthday and infects my wife and me. Of course no masks we're worn by any of us in the house. My brother was one of only two guests as we wanted to reduce the risk to everyone. My brother didn't know then that he was infected. He became symptomatic one day later. He then got tested.

I am not suggesting my little anecdote proves anything but it is completely in line with what the vast majority of expects are saying about transmissions. They mainly happen when people are in direct face to face contact without distancing and without masks.
So you caused a spreading event by your own actions. Whereas I have not, because of other precautions that are more important.

Can you please explain the massive spikes in Europe for us, then.

i spent a good amount of time in Europe this month and last. Nobody cares there anymore. Mask use was very limited until they locked down again. I noticed much more widespread mask usage in the US than the 2 european countries I visited. My parents that live in yet anothet european country said it's the same there too: mask mandates loosely followed and not enforced.

One of Biden’s guys, Olsterholm, who is pro lockdown said early summer masks don’t work. The evidence isn’t there and he had never seen CDC give guidance on such shaky science. This isn’t a Trump guy, he is part of the new team.

Not sure why some of you guys say stuff like this, and then never back it up. That is not at all what Olsterholm said:

You can post articles all day, it won't change the facts. I've been listening to his podcasts since March. I suggest you do the same:

https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/...ecial-ep-masks

Here are some direct quotes:

Never before in my 45 year career have I seen such a far-reaching public recommendation issued by any governmental agency without a single source of data or information to support it. This is an extremely worrisome precedent of implementing policies not based on science-based data or why they were issued without such data.

I believe this cloth mask recommendation situation represented the other low point in CDC’s response to COVID-19 with the other being the failed testing situation.
Frankly, I believe that this issue of CDC recommending the use of cloth masks without any substantial scientific evidence that they provide such protection,
I listened to the podcast, he clearly doesn't think masks people in the US wear work. His plan was a national N95 program which is the only kind of mask that he believed to actually work. Now that his leftist overlords have offered him a job his tune might be changing but your articles don't refute what I posted initially.
