You're overthinking this my friend.

That's not some article, it's a government press release linking to hundreds of pages of Coronavirus guidance issued by the Federal government, two months prior to the Democrats seeding nursing homes.

The virus did end by Easter for my family, no one has been sick since.

So you cannot tell the difference between places that did and those that did not?

May 6. The stellar leadership in NY and NYC finally decide sanitizing public transit is necessary.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nyc-subway-shutdown-overnight-coronavirus-disinfecting/

Their political decisions seeded vulnerable and healthy populations all the way around.
Have to wonder what role the May 6th sanitation start has had in the case levels in NYC.

What really slays me is flying with guys and gals or meeting guys and gals who work around other human beings who

1. Think covid is super cereal and paranoid beyond belief by it. They further chastise those who dont take covid as super cereal as they do. They chastise those who also go to work or would like the ability to work.
BUT
2. *Continue* going to work

Actions speak louder than words.

clearly these folks know, deep down in places they prefer not to acknowledge, that the bigger threat is their loss of income and benefits and yet they feel no shame trashing other peoples' ability to provide for themselves. This is damnable.

There will always be a virus, natural disasters, crashes, cancers, infections, heart disease, and any number of reasons for death. None of us will get out alive.
You're making a political argument right now, even though you're accusing others of doing exactly what you're doing. Yes, there are many risks in life, but the pandemic and its health consequences were avoidable. The argument your making is childish, and amounts to "why do anything if we are going to die anyway?"

Do you wear a seatbelt when you drive? What's the point, you might die of cancer? Why should I quit smoking because I might get hit by a car anyway? This is the attitude of an edgy 15 year old, and it's insane to me that pilots are struggling to understand the very basic premise of risk mitigation.

In any case, this whole "cure is worth than the disease" narrative is false and pseudoscientific. It's not based on any evidence, and pandemic deaths outweigh any of the external deaths if you look at the numbers.

Sad how those who are the most confident are often the most incorrect

Yeah except we are metaphorically being told to park our cars to prevent highway deaths, not just to take some simple precautions and get on driving.

Public Health is about adjusting your response as necessary. Nothing wrong with that time line.

Extend the metaphor - being told to drive backwards at max gas pedal - because going forward at speed causes all road deaths - and there is no science disproving going in reverse...

Ya. My post starts with the date.

May. The pandemic arrived in january.

This is why politicians find screaming about how we had no mandatory mask wear from the start so useful.

It provides an excuse and diversion from the complete failure on their part. Like wearing a mask would have offset the thousands of deaths from shoving infected cases into nursing homes.

Or the DAILY super spreader event from january to May with out serious sanitation that was the NYC public transit system.
