Why do you care what other people do when it has no effect on you or your life? Going out in public is enough of a pain in the ass right now, no one needs your judgmental bull **** on top of it.

So why do you care when people DON'T wear a mask when it has no effect on your life?

Because you don't wear a mask to protect yourself, you wear a mask to protect the people around you in case you're sick, asymptomatic, or incubating the virus:

What's the point in wearing a mask to protect other people if they aren't willing to protect you? That's why half the economy elects to stay home for everything except the essentials. I figured since you work in the travel industry and odds are this will directly affect your job with a furlough, career stagnation, and/or concessions you would know this.

And once again, had the CDC not LIED about the value of masks in the early days in an attempt to conserve the “good” masks for healthcare workers, they would be having less trouble now in getting across the value of them now.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

I've barely been flying so I've admittedly been in my own bubble for a few months (Except for a few trips here and there). I wondered what the heck was going on in the country, because in my little state EVERYONE wears masks anytime they're near people or inside a building. It's pretty much universally accepted here and our data shows it. Hospitalizations, deaths and spread have gone way, way down in the past couple months. I think, great! We're gonna beat this thing quickly, and then I see people like those on this very site who are arguing against wearing a piece of fabric over their mouths. They're arguing that it doesn't help anything. They're arguing as if their pilot certificate has suddenly become a medical degree. The top doctors in the world are telling us to do xyz, and we're fighting them tooth and nail.
Worst case, wearing a mask only helps in 1% of cases, and we still help that 1% potentially survive a novel virus. Best case, it severely stops transmission and we can get on with our lives, and hopefully our careers again. The very least amount of effort you can do is wear a mask to help those around you, that's literally all your country is asking for, and you can't do it without kicking and screaming.
Funny, I had family in the hospital a few years back and before we were allowed to go in the room with them, the doctors made us wash our hands and wear a mask. I guess that must have been a hoax too.

So please spare me the holier-than-thou attitude. This isn't about wearing a mask, a REAL surgical or N95 mask, when inside a Costco or some other crowded venue. There is some positive effect in those situations.
The point was, wearing a face covering when outside, by yourself, is of zero value to anybody and wearing a face covering while inside a vehicle, by yourself, is just flat stupid. All the "good intentions" in the world don't change those facts.

Because some of the facial coverings being used are actually WORSE than wearing no mask at all:

The point is, why do you care what someone does when it has no effect on you? Are you a middle school tween girl who gets gratification from calling everyone in the world an idiot? You sure sound like one. In my experience, the kind of person most concerned with labeling strangers as "idiots" or "flat stupid" is usually the biggest dunce of all.
In any case, he made the point that there could be circumstances at play that might explain why someone is wearing a mask in their car. If I'm running errands and will be in and out of the car 3-4 times in under 10 minutes, I'll leave my mask on. It's just easier. So please spare me the holier than thou attitude. I suppose you and all the other Karens must think I'm an idiot, but most adults don't care what others do when it has no effect on them.

We’re not talking about your Delta interview, we’re talking about a pandemic and health officials. So what if they said not to wear masks at first? It was quickly revised that we needed to, long ago now. And it was because they were afraid of shortages for the front line workers not because masks wouldn’t do anything.
