Well your adamant posts and threads about herd immunity ideas for months last year didn’t pan out and your mythical vaccine actually did get produced so..... I’m pretty sure you don’t know a whole lot.

His views parallel my own: business travel will return, but a portion of it never will. Never. Business relationships, and particularly new business development, THRIVE on in person interactions. But there is a percentage of business travel (maybe 15-25%?) that ultimately does not give an equitable ROI. It’s the type of business travel that has been done “because we’ve always done it that way.” Companies will look at their travel budgets and start to narrow down which types of business travel are necessary for growth and those that can be accomplished through remote work and relationships.

I can personally vouch for this. I know my parents are planning to take my entire family on a massive vacation once this is all over. (To make up for the extra saved vacation money we have)

We have three sets of visitors coming to our house in March. Two of the three did not travel at all last year and cancelled similar trips in 2020. I’m pretty sure this spring and summer are going to look much different than last year.

I know! What we really need is another 4-6 week hard lockdown to slow the spread then follow it up with an additional 2 weeks to flatten the curve. Then maybe we'll be getting there.

Business travel returning... it may be awhile. At least that’s how the market is betting.

Yeah and Tesla is worth more then all the auto makers combined. With many firms market cap is currently disconnected with reality.

Would have been tough at the time to give you an accurate number based on Cuomo’s latest little “snafu.”

Thanks for the link.

Considering this, it makes sense for for him to poo-poo the return of airline business travel.

Im optimistic that ambitious companies will take advantage of this “reset”/first-mover benefits, and the rest will follow. Add in dislocated employees/high performing teams (live where you want since offices don’t make sense anymore), and while business travel may look different, I think it will return bigger than before, starting this summer but really booming in 2022.
