There is no justification for travel bans, the virus is everywhere. The main purpose was to solve the problem of global overtourism, they saw a crisis that can be used in order to implement a system that limits the numbers of people that are able to travel from this point forward. If you think that these restrictions are going to go away, you need a lesson in history. Nothing more permanent than a temporary government program.
Yes, because Japan really wanted to cancel the Olympics, and SE Asia just hates having all of that tourist cash. Where do you come up with this nonsense?

Exactly my thoughts. I've heard some wild theories out of some people but that's a new one.

Talk all the trash you want, the powers that be who told us to be afraid were doing something else when they thought no one was looking. Citations are too numerous now, and Dr Birx just resigned to boot. Not a good look. Governor Andrew Cuomo was openly trashing the COVID vax in the late 2020. Teachers unions are fighting tooth and nail not to go back to class despite that not being a serious vector and Dr Fauci saying kids in class stay out of bars. Forced mail in balloting after Dr Fauci himself said we could vote in person... and frankly if he hadn't ,that wouldn't have passed the smell check. No masking went to absolutely positively wear it, then multiple masks.
Mandates to stay inside then open encouragement to go out and riot....errr "protest." And oh by the way, a sitting Vice President openly discussed bailing out said "protesters". What was herd immunity estimated?
Then we find those numbers slipped based on how the people would react not the science. COVID was clearly used as a political football leading up to a highly contentious election cycle. Massive pork has been stuffed into the covid relief packages.

Yeah, this has been a lesson on instilling confidence folks.

There is a reason the NWO is going to work because people are too stupid to figure it out. The virus is just a stealthy hitler. The powers that be know EXACTLY what they are doing because its working perfectly.

Not great but certainly not terrible considering the number of weather related flight cancellations...

Default GR8 Trend

1 wk average 43% YOY (21 v avg('20&'19))
2 wk average 40% YOY
context - better than Thanksgiving, and Christmas/New Years got to 48% & 46% respectively - so within striking distance.

I'll take it

I think it’s worth noting that it’s important to see that air travel didn’t collapse further despite going through the worst of the pandemic. As restrictions ease with vaccinations and hospitalizations falling, travel is going to begin coming back. I am still fairly optimistic for this summer.
