Its more than a spike. Hardly touched anyone I know at this point. In the last week LOTS of people I know have gotten it. It’s a wave.

All things considered, it’s not bad. With the news/stats/restrictions being as bad or worse than they have ever been, I’m content to not see it dip into the 20s. I am optimistic that a vaccine in some respectable numbers coupled with an easing of restrictions will see numbers climb to a more respectable level. For airlines not indebted to business/international travelers I believe late 2021 could see some normalcy. Wouldn’t doubt though that normalcy could be 75% and not the 90+ we would like.

That’s kind of what I’ve been thinking. A full recovery to the unprecedented levels of 2019 is probably several years away, but hopefully we get to a point where the airlines are able to break even by the end of next year. I would hope that with the smaller size of the legacies, that it could be accomplished if we can get back to 75% revenue. If we can get to 65-75% by the end of next year hopefully we can avoid further furloughs, start to recall, and eventually hire again during the next few years.

My opinion.

After Thanksgiving, as Covid-19 numbers have swelled, people are discouraging themselves from traveling. So, the percentage has decreased.

When vaccines start rolling out, even just to medical workers and those in nursing home, people will feel better. Travel percentages will go up. Especially if they start to see infection rates go down.

These are the strong impact of a psychology on an individual.

Yes.

My friends and family almost all did thanksgiving get-togethers, smaller than usual but still did it.

Now everyone is hunkering down now, but get-togethers are still planned for Christmas.

Had a conference call with the school-pod parents tonight. 45 minutes of wailing and hand-wringing just to conclude business as usual until a few days before we all get tested and go see grandma for the holiday. These are all west coast liberals.
