The vaccines are supposed to be approved between the 10-14 of December. They say they’ll be ready for distribution 24 hours after that. Let’s say it gets delayed til 12/21, that still gives trump a month to start vaccinations before Biden even gets his sleepy creepy hands on the helm. I doubt he’d start a lockdown after a month or more of vaccinations.

Where do you expect them to go with things closing down, restrictions and rising cases? Uncle bobs basement celebration in Cleveland? This is not Cuomos fault, it’s the fault of people that didn’t take this seriously. If everyone did their part, business’s would be open and cases would have been low enough for people to at least have more confidence in traveling. With that said, I think travel will be much better by spring. Everyone I know that is still nervous about flying have said they’re waiting for more people vaccinated before they get back on a plane. But all of them are desperate to get back to flying, still have jobs and still have the cash to spend. Some of workers in impacted industries like travel and restaurants are doing bad but others are not only managing but doing well. The economy will still have life after.
This virus spread to even remote islands and some people still think lockdowns will stop the virus. There's a reasons it's called a global pandemic...
And before you say china stopped the spread of the virus, you better rethink their trustworthiness.
Another lock down will do nothing but damage our economy even more. Instead, we should focus on the approval/distribution of the vaccine and accelerating that process.

It won’t get better until Biden admin can give the mandatory 4-6 week lockdown. Things will get way better after that, which will also coincide with vaccine distribution. They (new admin) can then directly take credit for controlling and combating the virus, which they can hang their hat on for years to come. My crystal ball is pretty clear on this one.

This thread and its predecessor are littered with the carcasses of the brothers and sisters of this post. Pretty much none of them have come close to fruition. I’m not going to do the Internet shout down thing, but I disagree. Pax numbers have been growing about 1% per week. That happened this week despite the hugest virus spike we’ve seen yet. Growth has continued. Something truly remarkable has to happen for consumer behavior to go back to the way it was in April or even July. It’s not out of the question, but it’s improbable. I think it’s more likely that the numbers bump along in the 40s (except Tuesdays...don’t talk about Tuesdays) maybe into the low 50s until March or April and then accelerate.

I hope you’re right. I’m not sure the expected time line for vaccine distribution and demographics associated with it, but I have zero faith that ANY of our politicians will do anything that isn’t in their own self interest. Everything is done for a political advantage. I have no use for any of them. I won’t derail the thread any further.
Just to be clear, I'm not blaming one side for dishonesty. If the political exchange was the opposite, they'd do the same. It's the nature of politics.
