Default Statistics and Data Thread

Is it possible to have a thread that aggregates and discusses data relating to the travel recovery (or lack thereof) here on APC without it devolving into political diatribes, conspiracy theories, name calling, or any other asshat-ery? There used to be a thread like that, but the actual discussion seems to be overpowered by the buffoonery, so I was thinking about starting a new one.

I’ve sincerely enjoyed your analyses of TSA numbers and the way you help the non-statisticians among us understand the principles at play. Please carry on.

It won't be too long until those idiots hijack this thread and start dumb political arguments.... I am sure they are getting ready to turn this into a political discussion as I write this....3..2..1.... GO! 😉

Concur. Thanks Brad.

Just wanted to get my thoughts in now before this thread devolves into another political death match.........

Default Free of buffoonery?

That’s asking a lot, this is after all APC.

Could we maybe settle for just free of GROSS buffoonery, and reserve mere ordinary buffoonery as some sort of aspirational future goal?

If the lag in deaths to cases remain consistent and proportional, we're on our way to 1800 deaths per day by mid August.

Well that didn’t last long. I was looking forward to a thread about travel statistics.

Thanks all. I kind of figured that the poll would end up this way, but there's nothing like actual data to prove or disprove a hypothesis.

Observation: even with mod input, the other thread can't seem to remain on course. Perhaps that's just the nature of this beast.
