I never said that we should totally ignore the experts either, those are words you put into my mouth. It's just that I am educated enough when I can see media manipulate statistics to make a certain political group look bad or that they are not doing their job. This goes for both sides.
So much this^^^

Once again:
If you scroll down to the daily new cases, the US has effectively flattened to curve:
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
Whereas the UK, Italy, France, and Germany have beaten the curve:
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/
https://www.worldometers.info/corona...country/italy/
https://www.worldometers.info/corona...ountry/france/
https://www.worldometers.info/corona...untry/germany/
This outcome was the consensus of the vast majority of public health experts from the get-go. Trump DID lock down the economy, and it DID help. He also was quick to push through a massive stimulus package that averted a huge economic disaster. As far as I'm concerned his actions (not his tweets) have been as much as we could've expected without sinking the economy. I'm not sure where everyone is getting on this train of "go hide in your basement (it's always a basement for some reason) and let the men go to work" because, as someone whose a moderate independent, it sounds like you're in denial that the virus exists and you're disregarding the public health initiatives that may be our only life boats.
The mask thing is what really irritates me because it's so simple, there's so much positive research around it, and by not wearing it you're basically saying that you can't be slightly inconvenienced to do something that might possibly help reduce the spread of a virus that disproportionally affects the old, the sick, and the poor.

I bet you think you are clever but the secret service forces you into the bunker. You don't have a choice. And so what? You're afraid of a little tear gas? Gmafb

Never promise something that is out of your control. Never state something as a fact when it's not. Never lie. It's not hard.

A friend of mine just cancelled his airline reservations for his planned two-week vacation at the beginning of July.
He lives in Southern California (the metropolis, not Blythe or someplace), and the destination was the family camp in Michigan.
The reason? Too scared to fly. They are in their 40s with two kids under 10.
It's pretty lame, but there you go.

Many of mine have traveled to FL this week, another is planning a trip to visit home in MI, another is heading to NY for the weekend...
