Unless you live on an island(New Zealand) the idea of quarantine is stupid. The virus is already everywhere.
There is no getting rid of it. The idea was to slow it to provide the medical community the opportunity to prepare and the supply chain to catch up on PPE. Both of those have been accomplished.

guy says the risk of death via covid is .04%
I use large round widely available numbers to show were at .04 deaths (roughly) already.
and the response is project Veritas and some anecdotal crap.
for every 100 year old lady there is someone who died before they were looking for it marked as a run of the mill flu or pneumonia
Then some pile ons about Karen’s, which I still stand by my assertion that you guys are misusing that adjective

Who cares? The entire point of shutting the country down was to prevent medical facilities from being overrun. Unfortunately, the lockdowns resulted in mass hysteria fed by misleading information and the belief that catching covid was a death sentence to the average person.
It's done. It's over. Move on.

Most of the county is still taking extreme precautions. Tons of business are not open. And yet there are areas where cases are on the rise.
I don’t advocate for perpetual lock down, but we have to be smart about how we proceed. If we’re not all on the same page... ah f it
enjoy the rally, don’t forget to sign the wavier it’s all a hoax anyways

some hospitals did get overwhelmed. Some more might get overwhelmed in the future if we all adopt your attitude.

I know the orange man said something stupid vis a vis “a hoax”, and he is own worst enemy in my opinion. But the orange man let Drs Fauci, Birx, et al have a lot of latitude to go after a very real covid....which I assumed the pro lockdown crowd would have given him some credit for.
Everyone knows covid is real. As I said before, the crux of the matter is the response, that response varies. And you have to separate orange mans blustery mouth from his actions sometimes.

Stop saying that. That’s not a real debate, that’s a straw man. Even terrible terrible Fox News says covid is real.

“it’s done, it’s over, move on”
I think it’s far from over.
the orange man is assembling 100,000 people, many of which will enter a closed space to have a political rally. Those are his actions.
Just the other day in an interview he stated that he still thinks China let the virus out as a way to punish him personally. Those are his words.
Other state, county, and local officials refuse to implement or enforce basic precautions. Some have sited the hoaxiness as their reasoning.

There is no guarantee AT ALL that there WILL EVER be an effective immunization for coronavirus. NONE.
We need to go get on with life. Keeping kids out of school and stopping routine preventive medicine has costs in lives too. Collapsing the world economy will kill millions in the third world from starvation too. Except in densely populated states, we are not pressing the limits of ICU capabilities. Even the worst pandemic in recent history, the Spanish Influenza of 100 years ago, went away in two years - without a vaccine. And we may have herd immunity with coronavirus far sooner than the time it will take to perfect a vaccine.

The testing argument has already been debunked. Testing in Florida began in May but was not spiking until the last 2 weeks. If it was due to testing it would have spike before. The virus is growing, it’s not the testing. Also that’s a pretty ominous graph you have there....
What’s ominous about it?

This is caveman math, but if demand comes back to 50% PC that means every airline is roughly 50% overmanned, correct? That sounds like a lot of furloughs. Our aligned goal, no matter what your political affiliation, is to convince people to fly on airlines during an active pandemic. Study after study shows that if everyone wears masks and keeps their distance where able, the virus will likely stagnate, or possible burn out. People are social and follow the crowd, so if your crowd advocates complacency, it'll probably be much worse for you. Literally every real-world scenario has shown this to be true; Sweden, Brazil, Florida, Arizona, Iran, etc. Our jobs depend on the outcome, so I care about the reality far more than the politics.
