Virus not nearly as lethal as the "experts" thought or predicted in Mar/Apr..

Deaths in FL, TX and other places supposedly "spiking" have not dramatically increased. Using worldometer (not the best source, but easiest to bring up on iPhone and follows the same trends as CDC #'s)shows a death rate vs confirmed cases for FL just over 3%, and for TX at 2%... those are for the confirmed cases which are typically the most severe. That isn't even for the asymptomatic cases which are estimated much much higher.

Public isn't going to fall for the BS. Those "experts" who may be correct, will be ignored because of the politics and childish behavior of those on both sides trying to win support.

Shelter the >80 crowd... The rest of us barely even feel a symptom. Hell a common cold is more annoying than the majority of Covid 19 symptoms.

Business is going to continue to open. US Economy and it's citizens won't put up with another "shutdown", for a .02- .04% mortality rate.

If the gov't and States really thought we were all doomed they would be shutting everything down already. As is they know as well as we do that it's not a death sentence and an overwhelmingly large majority of us will be just fine.. Like 99.96% of us will make it...I'd take those odds.
I know you’re on a roll here but maybe you should get out a calculator.

Roughly .04% of the US population has already died from this thing, and it ain’t over yet.

Florida has been proactively testing the migrant worker population over the last week. Even those without symptoms. It’s not a surprise the infection rate is high.

They live in family units in close quarters. Even though the positive tests are spiking the hospitalizations are not.

Basically they are just catching cases that went undetected before. Last month none of these cases even met the criteria to get a test.

If we're picking nits...births in the US outnumber deaths by something in the vicinity of 3/4M annually so we're probably ahead in population from where we started the year. To that point, CDC statistics show 60% of COVID deaths are 75+ years old and 80.7% are 65+ years old.

Multiple serosurveys from cities/regions/states across the country peg actual SARS-CoV-2 infections at least 10:1 in the midwest and higher on the coasts, which serves to lower IFR to something resembling the 1968 H3N2 pandemic.

I say this in seriousness, not trying to be be argumentative....but how is that surprising? Hasn't it been agreed that Covid is highly contagious, and we are all likely to get it? Since covid can't be outright eliminated, we needed to flatten to the curve to not overwhelm "the system."? Oh, and protect the vulnerable (mostly elderly). Im not surprised that the number of cases has grown, especially given the crowds out in the streets.

How many of those died OF Covid and how many died WITH Covid?

Newspaper headline that Annie Glenn (John Glenn’s widow) died OF Covid. She was a HUNDRED YEARS OLD.

They claimed Roy Horn died OF Covid. He’s been jacked up for 16 years since Montecore mauled him.

Project Veritas interviewed dozens of coroners and funeral directors and proved that hundreds of death certificates were altered to indicate CAUSE of death as Covid despite clear evidence of terminal cancer patients, suicides, even blunt force trauma deaths who had the virus being categorized as dieing FROM the virus.

Someday, somebody will conduct an honest study and somebody will publish an honest book that show how overhyped the risk to the average citizen really was.

Nobody will ever really be able to PROVE cause of death in those cases and the news media sure isn’t interested in the truth. The bigger the number, the scarier the headline, the more clicks they get.

great Pilot perspective. ATP, trained in risk assessment, analyze facts versus use emotion, etc.

we get it

Karen is at home, blinds drawn, wearing that home made cloth mask all day, in the shower and even to bed - alone.
She is just ****ed off that you won't wear your mask the same way - it insults her.

guy says the risk of death via covid is .04%

I use large round widely available numbers to show were at .04 deaths (roughly) already.

and the response is project Veritas and some anecdotal crap.

for every 100 year old lady there is someone who died before they were looking for it marked as a run of the mill flu or pneumonia

Then some pile ons about Karen’s, which I still stand by my assertion that you guys are misusing that adjective

Karen is back to asking to speak with the manager, now that restaurants and most stores are open.

If these “sun belt” states don’t get control over their rates then other states will be forced to quarantine passengers from those states. Some already have began doing it. That won’t be good for airlines...
