IT IS NOT THE BREAKEVEN POINT; STOP POSTING THIS GARBAGE. 62% IS THE LOAD FACTOR FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING ON AIRCRAFT.

For chrissake, stop repeating such garbage. BELF is likely running >100% for every airline right now.

The decline of quality journalism has indeed been going on for a long time but it isn't wholly self-inflicted. The American people with our short attention spans and unwillingness to value long form journalism coupled with critical thinking has devalued what 'the media' should be. Good read if you have the time...

Went through DEN yesterday afternoon. It had a noticeable amount of people. Enough people that some of the mall style kiosks were open for business. Waited 20 mins at Chic Fil A. Micky Ds just as busy. It was good to see.

This is essentially the same as the people cheering that airlines are in trouble now because we charged them bag fees.

Errrrr. Not really. One did a weak bait and switch that if and charged people for bags. If anyone did a modicum of research would know what they are and aren't paying for.

The media on the other hand deals in the currency of trust; a currency that they actively chose to exchange for money. They betrayed their mandate and will eventually pay for it.

The airline on the other hand never purported to be the last bastion of moral good. The media is supposed to keep.society on the rails.....in this they failed.

Nonsense. It is far more pervasive and certainly not just my opinion. And it preceded COVID which will nonetheless make it much worse.

The problem is people conflating cable news with journalism. They’re not the same. The people who’s job loss you’re celebrating are much more likely to be trusted local journalists than Fox/CNN talking heads.

What part of journalists 44% and the news media 52% do you not get? And why do you believe that your assertion ought to replace the judgment of the Pew Research Center who - I might assume - have somewhat more experience in polling than you do?

It would seem that you denigrate the public as rubes who don't know what the definition of 'media' and 'journalists' is and denigrate the Pew Research people as incompetent in their own field. Everybody else out there is wrong and you are right, in your opinion. That's pretty arrogant. Unlike Viper, I don't particularly care for that in a pilot.

its kind of amazing who’s not trusted anymore. 50 years ago, government and politicians , most news broadcasts were trusted. Yes, we laughed some of their antics, but they were believable. Now, not a one has the honor to be remotely trustworthy.

I used to work in an office processing hospital surveys. After being on the phone with the general public 8 hours a day trying to explain that the options are “very bad, bad, neutral, good, and very good” and that I can’t accept an answer of “Great!” Or “pretty good” or “it sucked”, and getting yelled at and hung up on because people don’t understand how data collection works I don’t have a lot of faith in the general public to be able to tell the difference between a “journalist“ and “News media”.

By the same token, since apparently we can’t ever critique anyone, why do you believe you know better than the experts at the CDC, are those people incompetent in their own field? Everybody else out there is wrong and you are right, in your opinion. That's pretty arrogant. Unlike Viper, I don't particularly care for that in a pilot.

Either way, I don’t particularly care for people cheering when others lose their livelihoods, whether their company or industry sucked or not. In my opinion, Boeing has sucked lately, that doesn’t mean I’m happy to read that they’re laying people off.
