The fear of illness and death is greater than the disease or cure.

Hah! They’ll lead off with ground commander’s initials—anything to make a buck.

Thanks. So far so good. Just needs to keep trending up. The numbers are the only thing that matters. I couple care less about everyone’s opinion at this point.

Condé Nast is a magazine mostly company and newstand sales is a major part of revenue, along with ad sales. My significant other works for their competitor and the writing is on the wall for her company right now and will be let go coming October 1st, they qualified for the the cares act.

If your talking about politicaly charged 24 hour news..... their revenues have never before been higher.

Sorry to hear about your significant other, mine is currently furloughed as well. But I'm not sure what point you were trying to make. Again, I'm no fan of the 24 hour news cycle but the list of layoffs included a lot of decent publications as the rout of quality journalism continues to decline. Sad times.

Cheering?
No.

Observing karma affecting journalism as a whole?

Most definitely.

So smugly then? Got it.

This is nothing to be excited about in the least.

The current crop of media personnel as a whole has squandered credibility that it took their predecessors decades to accrue. The profession has no one to blame but themselves, and this was occurring long before COVID.
