TSA numbers above 100k seven days in row

The sky is not falling. As of today, this is what has changed in the last week. Pay particular attention to Monday and Thursday.
Mon to Mon - 7-13 / 7-20 - 2,655 LESS
Tue to Tue - 7-14 / 7-21 - 9,844 LESS
Wed to Wed - 7-15 / 7-22 - 18,334 LESS
Thurs to Thurs - 7-16 / 7-23 - 1,349 LESS
The biggest days that matter are Thursday/Friday and Sunday/Mondays. There was a combined 4,004 fewer people combined on this two days this week vs last. I’ll be concerned when these days starting dropping by the tens of thousands.
Ill have Fri and Sun numbers to compare come Monday morning.
Overall we aren’t falling off a cliff. This is much more of a plateau at the moment. And honestly given the BS in the news the last 2 weeks, to have basically stayed the same is pretty damn good in my book.
Ill be very interested Monday morning.
I finished up a trip this afternoon. Our terminal in ORD I have never seen as busy as I did this morning. Shoulder to shoulder. Every gate full of people. Both ours and Eagles.
Finished the trip with a DEN turn. Had enough time to get lunch and a shoe shine. Crowded. Every WN gate next to us, full of people.
Ive been flying this entire month. Today truly seemed like the busiest Friday I’ve had. Well know in a couple days.

I had reservations on Allegiant on 9-10, they canceled those and the rest of the month, so sometimes it ain't up to the pax.

i still think it’s coming back. Look at how quickly things ramped up through June. The only reason it’s stalled now is because the disease is thriving again, and restrictions are being put back into place. Think about it, after 9/11 people were afraid to fly. No one is afraid to get into an airplane now. Not anymore than going to the grocery store, or the mall.
as soon as it’s under control, or there is a vaccine loads will return to 2019 levels, there’s only reason for them not to. Business may be a little slower to return, but it will come back as well. They’ve been calling for the end of business travel since the 80’s, when the first video conference was developed. Hasn’t happened yet. People like doing business face to face.

My concern is the inability to get past 30% all summer
Summer is basically over in 4 weeks
business travel is nonexistent, with one CEO stating “down 96%”. so after summer, then what
those are my concerns

I was going to take my nieces to Yosemite, Sequoia, and San Francisco next week. I had booked NPS lodging a year in advance and bought our plane tickets in February.
My sister told me I had to cancel yesterday. She was scared by the headlines regarding virus cases in CA, daily deaths being back over 1,000, and all the rioting going on in big cities. She never once expressed any concern about the safety of our trans-con flight.

Some of these changes in the way people travel could be longer lasting. That’s a concern for me.
A lot of families are buying RV’s and doing road trips or visiting places closer to home. That could become a replacement for air travel in the long term for some. You don’t invest $20k+ in an RV just to use it one summer.
Boats, cottages and swimming pools are all in high demand now. That’s dollars that may have been going to vacations by air. It’s a two year wait in my area to have a swimming pool installed.
