Default Sales jobs at Beech/Cessna/Gulfstream/etc

Hello

Does anyone know what the process is to obtain a sale's job (selling airplanes) at the major manufacturers ? Does this require a type/experience in the product being sold ? Salary/Income ?

I am not talking about this as a "stepping stone" job, I mean if someone, with an aviation background, and prior sales experience selling other products (selling is selling), how would one go about this ?

Thanks

Usually in the magazine ads for airframers, there is a director of sales
listed at the bottom of the page with a phone number/email.
Give it a shot.

Not an easy position to get. Some come from inside having been demo pilots, field service reps, sales support/engineering people; others are recruited by competitors. See Brent Monroe just left Bombardier for a Gulfstream position.

Not an easy one to keep, either. Year One, learn district; Year Two, start making deals; Year Three, produce sales or move on.

The good sales directors have good deals, though.

I'd guess more come up thru their companies that walk in and become sales reps, but each one is unique.
