Default Sierra Super II Citation

Does anyone fly one of these?

If so how does it perform compared to the numbers posted by Sierra Indistries?

What are your hourly operating costs running?

What kind of speed/fuel burn can be expected?

Haven't flown one myself, but spoke to some guys a while back who were driving one. they said the numbers they see are consistent with the manufacturers numbers. Quite a difference over the stock airplane.

Flying
magazine had an article a while back. See below:

Thanks for the link, I'll check that out!

Looks like the article is for a SII conversion, do you happen to know how different the Stock Super II varies with the SII and it's super-crital wing?

At the risk of being a smartass...

There aren't that many of these modded planes out there, so I wouldn't expect to hear from somebody who has much time in one...especially on AirlinePilotCentral.

Yeah, I kind of assumed the same but figured nothing ventured nothing gained.

I also have a call into the sales rep to see if he could hook me up with a couple of names with time to talk.

I never understood the logic of the Sierra mods, when you can get a used CJ2 for around the same money, that's about 20 years newer.

Range is the primary reason - the modified (and stock, for that matter) SII has quite a lot more. But yeah, unless that extra range is needed, I think I'd rather have the CJ2.

The 2 reason we were looking into it were:

1) Range- The Sierra Mod on a II gets 1600+, the SII is a bit more

2) Weight- The Citation II with the New Flight GW Mod makes this a great full fuel machine. 1200+lbs of load after fuel in most cases.

The CJ2 is slightly quicker, but the payload (Full Fuel) is drastically lower. I like the plane and the hot wing certianly seems better than the boots, but that payload is what we keep coming back to.
