FO pay Lear 45

So should I get a job as a banner tow for the next two years, and get a lot of GA exp? I assumed that the 2500TT requirement was a guideline, and not a rule. I see requirements with a lot of TT, but that's about it.

Hornetpilot,
I think that with your times, you could be in the right ballpark for a FO position with the right company. No doubt that insurance runs this industry. That being said, there are flight departments that would be intrested in talking with you.
In the Corporate world having alot of flight time is always nice, but it IS NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT! Understanding the companys' business philosophy, and customer service is! In my companys flight department the customer is EVERYTHING! You could be a 747-400 Capt. with a bagillion hours, but if you can not provide excellent customer service, they will not give you the time of day. In our operation personality is key. We do international trips that last 2-3 weeks. Is this someone I could be with everyday for three weeks, without killing? Is he a team player? Sometimes having lower times is an advantage, the company can mold you into what they are looking for.
Another thing that is in your favor is your military background. Many Corp. flight departments have former military in management positions. They maybe more apt to give you a chance because they know your training background, and know where your coming from.

Considering a job as an F/O-A/P on a Lear 31. First jet job. Normally no callouts, but 3 or 4 days a week of flying. 200 hrs a year, right seat and they pay the type. No chance of left seat, single plane ops and the Captain (boss) been there 20+ years, that seat is his.
Question: Offer is 45K/year to start. Raise when typed, probably to 50K/yr. Not much of an increase after that for a while. How does this compare to what's out there? I have an offer to street Capt on a Dash 8, but it's shaky and only 35/yr. Opinions?
