Default BeechJet Co-Captain Salary

I am looking into a Co-Captain position flying a BeechJet 400. The part 91 position also requires an A&P license (which I have). I come to the table with 5,500TT, 3,000 multi and 2,700 turbine but no Jet experience. The job is based in the NW United States.

Any idea what I should expect for a salary if the job is offered?

$90k at a minimum.

You're doing two jobs (Captain/A&P), you should be paid for two.

90K?? I sincerely doubt that...

Cheyennedriver, my guess, they're going to make you an offer around the $70K range

He didn't ask what they'd offer. He asked what he should expect. If it were me and I were doing two jobs, I'd expect to be compensated for it.

$70k is about $10k over what I'd expect as a captain only on a Beechjet part 91.

I agree with minitour. The absolute base acceptable salary for a Beechjet Co-captain is 65-70k. If you are required to be an A&P then you should be compensated for it. 90K is not unreasonable at all.

Gotta remember one thing: If you ain't flying it, you may be fixing it. And if you ain't fixing it, then you may be flying it. Can't do both at the same time. If the company can afford two captains, then they should be able to afford A&P. I do not agree with the 2 for 1 job description. My .02.

What about those of us who dream of doing just that without having to buy our own jet?

I never want to be "just" a pilot.

Well - they are looking for 1 guy to fill 2 positions because.....they are CHEAP!

Be prepared for a crappy offer, only crappy operations try this type of move.

Is what it is...

And do beechjet Captains really make 60K??....

Pt 91? At least.

Pt 135? Probably middle of the road.

That would be the difference between you and me. I am not a mechanic, never wanted to be, nor ever had any interest in being one. I am "just a pilot", and that's the way I have always wanted it to be. Rather be in the air looking down upon a beautiful world, instead of having my head shoved in an engine compartment or other hard to reach area. Just my opinion. I agree with the too cheap poster.
