if you go with the PA31..I would definitely recommend the VG's, if nothing else. Increases useful load significantly. i have a few hundred hours and change in the straight 310, good airplane..can load it up, especially when you add the VG's and considering your only going about 200nm. very reliable aircraft in my experience.

How would someone get info on all the operating cost's? Should I call a broker? The company that may be interested would just want to sign a contract for the flying. They aren't really interested in buying, but may later down the road. I don't have a million bucks so leasing is probably my only option. Any ideas ?

Have you considered the Cessna 425 (conquest I)? It's basically a C-421 with 450 HP Pratts. 250 true in the mid 20 flight levels. Good range, lots of room for four pax and luggage, doable with six pax, eight total seats including pilot. I have seen some online under the million mark, but no idea as to condition.
