Default Finding a new job, and experiences doing so

I have been unemployed for seven months right now. But this is what I have been experiencing.
When I used to look for a pilot job I got the normal questions, TT, and multi time and so on. But now during one of my Tours armed with resumes I got the same question over and over again. " What are you typed in" . It is scary out there to find a job, I understand that I am low time 2000tt and 550 multi I did get the ATP written out of the way.
And I am not picky on the jobs or the location in the world.
Let me know what you guys are experiencing, and if you know of a job do not hesitate to PM or write me

About the same response for twice the amount of time and I have 6 type ratings, it is just crazy.

Typed with no time is .. well almost worthless.

I have been talking about this very subject since being laid off in FEB. In the past... even in downturns it seemed employers were less worried about your type ratings as they were your total experience. Now it seems they want everything on the cheap.... million dollar planes and no money for training... such BS.

Default Getting a job

My experience - 40 years as pilot - mechanic - ATP several types - 16K plus hours -college yes - its like my entire life has been wiped out - no value to experience - of course not - only how cheap will I work - paid by the day - pay for my own training ? Or - $15 an hour - when we need you to fly - or $10 an hour as a mechanic Oh -and you can live in our hanger ? Two of my friends (with similar experience as me) got killed in accidents flying JUNK - just to try to survive - is it worth it ? You decide? I am still looking but won't fly junk, and won't work for peanuts and live with the rats in the hanger. Bitter - slightly - not blaming anyone - and not trying to figure out the "why" for anything. Thats life - make the best of it.

The first thing I would wonder is why you don't have an ATP?

ATPs with ratings and experience are fighting in a competitive market...but commercial pilots license holders? I'd say a CFI job at best is what you might be looking at in most markets?

Things are competitive out there, you gotta have the basics covered.

There are many applicants with type ratings and experience in type available, its not usually about saving the few bucks on school.

Its an employers market, unless you have strong connections dont expect any bones to be thrown your way.

Good Luck!
