Default anyone plan to attend the nbaa convention?

Is anyone attending the NBAA convention at Fulton Co. (KFTY) / Ga World Congress Ctr. this week? Both my employers, old and new, will be setting up booths. They say it is going to be a big deal. I also did all my flight training at FTY... hip little airport.

I was planning on going, but a lot of things happened that just made it impossible for me to go including being sick right now. I do have a student/friend who is going though, she's hoping for a bit of action toward a job.

For pilots it may not be the best use of time for career purposes, but for the small jet sellers and customers it's a big deal. I thought maybe some of the pilots flying the airplanes in would be reading. It is a pretty good year for small jets. There are a lot of new airplanes entering the market and many have new technologies. It's also a good time to be in Atlanta.

I really want to get down to FTY and look at the static displays, not sure I can cut free though. Let us know who has the best static displays, LeoSV.

I'll be coming down tomorrow to pick up one of our new meridians. I'll only be showing up for that part I'm guessing. I wasn't really invited to go to the show portion, but honestly if I can get in and get out, I'll be just as happy.

***EDIT****

I lied, well not really. Just found out I get a pass to go into the show for the day. Something about I can't leave until 3pm anyways. Not sure what it's about, but oh well. Anyone that'll be there I'd be glad to meet ya.

I am there. i fly out of FTY, so the conventionis hampering my being able to give flight training. But its a great place to go and see expensive, cool aircraft. I am not trying to buy or get a job, but just being an aviation lover, it was great. I got to go inside the BBJ which I have never seen one before. It was too cool. There was a bed and two bathrooms with shoewers. i have never seen anything like thta in my life. It was a house with wings

B737's may be the largest transport aircraft that can land safely at FTY, but I am pretty sure when they were filming "We Are Marshall" with Matthew McConaughey last year the film company landed an MD80 or similar MD for the filming of the movie. One side of the aircraft painted in one livery and the other side of it painted in some other livery so they could use only one aircraft to do two scenes.

the show is actually kinda lame. You can easily sneak onto the field. I forgot to wear my badge and I walked around freely for an hour until I had to shuttle people around from the parking lot. Most everybody on the tarmac is a stuck-up snob. The coolest part of the show was the Lamborghini and the Bugatti Veyron I saw pulling into the parking lot. Big surprise, morbidly wealthy people are coming to shop for jets. The one thing I wanted to see, the HondaJet, was not letting anybody into the plane.
