To remove the stink, they should change the name.

Yup. Once a scab, always a scab.

Outside of the unionizd airlines, nobody much cares.

Clay Lacy is long gone. A pilot who has worked for Clay Lacy Aviation isn't going to be blacklisted, all vitriol to the contrary.

Nobody in the corporate or charter world cares. A pilot who has worked for Clay Lacy Aviation isn't carrying a black mark on his work history if he applies to an airline.

It seems, somtimes, that the word "scab" is a dog whistle. Type it or say it, and a certain percentage of airline pilots pop out of the bushes like wild dogs, barking and snarling, driven to madness by the mere mention of the word. Mindless. Not much thought or intelligence behind it; just angry insects stirred up by a word.

Relax kids. Nobody's here's a scab. Nobody's crossed a line and is trying to return. The castle's safe. Back in the bushes.

Scabs were real not too long ago, they would cross the picket line and take your job.
Why is that not a big deal in your book?

Burke,

You’re outright stupidity when it comes to a scab’s place in the honorable airline pilot’s world is something nobody should listen to if they want to be part of our industry. The only thing that “pops out of the bushes” is YOU every time there’s a thread about some loser scab like Lacy. You’re always right there trying to minimize the impact of their traitorous decisions. Your idiotic comments are the only things here that lack thought or intelligence. Now go back to whatever flea bag outfit you work for and quit injecting yourself into a discussion where you are clearly out of your depth. As for the OP, please do yourself a favor, and don’t heed the advice of burke. It’ll lead you down a bad path. ALPA/SWAPA/IPA/APA carriers are destination careers BECAUSE of the unions that make them jobs worth having. The rest of the industry rides the coattails of those carriers. Don’t be confused by those who say it’s no big deal to cross a picket line.

The tone is condescending but I'm reading that as pointing out a lack of awareness for union history and politics in the corporate world, not that there shouldn't be an awareness of it. He's right. This stuff just doesn't live in the minds of that industry segment like it does 121, so it also doesn't carry the weight 121 folks might expect it should. Not a right or wrong thing, it's just a different culture.

The tone you perceive is from a history of Burke crapping on threads he should stay out of, and calling anyone a liar who calls out his bs. Also, he said it’s not a black mark to work for a scab owned outfit and then apply to a major airline. It sure as hell is to the pilots who work there, and is definitely not something he should be saying, because again, he’s out of his depth.

His tiny penis syndrome when it comes to Juan Browne is absolutely hilarious!

Anyone fly with Garrett Ray, AA FO? His Daddy was a CAL SCAB. He posts as “flywithgarrett” You Tube, Instagram, etc. totally obnoxious. I’m surprised corporate hasn’t walked him out. Can’t wait until he tries to jump seat.
