Well CS didn't respond to my email that's what they said over the phone. AO replied to my email with some helpful info. Maybe I left them somewhere else, I don't see any reason why our pilots wouldn't try to help out if they found missing keys.

To give you a little bit of background on the lost and found issue, a year or two ago pilots would send out emails to the entire pilot group asking if someone found their pen on the FO or CA side. It started getting pretty annoying, so the CP office sent out a PRF simply asking people to track down the previous crew that flew the aircraft by calling or emailing CS to assist you. If you can't remember what flight or tail you left your keys because you found out later, then there's not much they can do for you. Just my 2 cents. Hopefully someone here will PM you or you'll find them with a note in one of the crew rooms. That's what I do when I find something that's not mine, I leave them in the crew room by the gaming consoles with a post-it note. Hope you find them...

Remember that for every 10 calls that come in through CS, 7-8 of them are FAs complaining about the wrong color or size of font on IOCC, so, from a psychological stand point, by the time you are calling them, they are already painting you with the same brush. Your question and concern may be completely valid, but CS becomes numb pretty quickly to things that are non-critical in nature after all is said and done.

I believe there was an incident where a CA emailed the entire pilot group convinced his pen was stolen and to immediately return it to his V file. Subsequent his v file was filled with hundreds of hotel pens..

Yeah that also happened. To be honest with you, I was just as annoyed with the pen thing as I was with every other "hey I left my sunglasses in..." emails. It was getting out of hand and needed to stop.

The compass email system was like the wild west. We all got notified when a flight attendant was fired because somebody was always constantly hitting reply all on accident. And then an unnamed member of our pilot group became famous, at least in my mind, when he started "replying all" with absolutely hilarious memes. He was a great guy to fly with as well! Those were the good old days, when we could still do night visuals into San Jose and didn't have to check in, yep, last year was great.

Agreed. Old Compass was the best Compass. Not only could the Wild West be applied to the email system, but the Wild West could be applied to the AA LAX operation, since there wasn't anyone to call for push. Just tell the ramper that you're ready to push and you're good to go. Way better than the "call ops, get 'cleared to push'" and then 10 seconds later told to hold on the gate (after the ramp crew has already started pushing you into the alley). Did quite a few "pull back onto the gate" maneuvers for that nonsense. Glad that after 2 years of that craziness they're finally changing it for the better though...
