Dude, seriously. They make some of these changes like out of the blue with no explanation. This one is so weird, I thought the same thing about the beacon. Isn't the point of the beacon being on/off to signify it being safe/unsafe to approach or be near the A/C, so doors still open? Weird. And what's with the ramp channel being specifically off?? I can hear my future LCA debrief item now... "you know we are suppose to have the ramp channel off when you run the before start check (to the line)." I will try not to laugh. If they want to do something really productive with our manuals they should fix our memory item for abnormal engine start "start/SPOT selector stop" can't believe that's still there..
Well, this new procedure is just in time for 12 month, naturally.

Anybody notice the FO does not view and input the takeoff data until after the waive off? It is now done as a flow item before the taxi check.
So.... if we need to move bags are we returning to the gate?!?! Am I missing something?

And we will also be blocking the alley/taxiway/gate even longer while getting set to taxi, so that should help with taxi times in LA! I'm sure ramp control will love us.

God forbid we have to move a passenger from the back to the front while we block the alley/taxiway. Also do we run a before takeoff check again if we get a last minute runway change after we've already done the before takeoff? Cause per the book you can't do the BTC before doing the Takeoff change check....people that don't fly must make this stuff up!

On that topic, anyone done the new auto loadsheet and have to move pax or bags? Do you have to inform the gate agent of the change so they can do it for you or the rampers so they can make the change on their end? Or do you simply change it to manual mode and make the changes manually like normal? If it's the former, then you absolutely would be now returning to gate for ANY loading revision... again, am I missing something?

Well then they do exist, I apologize but they are not all that way because the one that my buddy and his friends were in were just standard rooms

There wasn't a change to the before takeoff check or Takeoff Change check it doesn't look like -- that wording has been there since 2015 according to the AOM page dates..... I've always done it that way anyway, as per the book -- I run the takeoff change check, then do a second BTC, mainly for a new takeoff brief.

Yes, it's messed up badly for me as well. I noticed early yesterday and emailed payroll with no reply back so far.
