Compass Updates - Saga Continues

Anyone know guys actually volunteering for right seat? Company men hurting the rest of us. If you run into these guys, please let them know what they are doing. The union made it pretty clear but I still take it a few guys will ignore it.

Is it really working for free? A reserve is getting paid 75 hours a month to fill in gaps that happen in scheduling. Sometimes you get paid to sit at home. By picking up a trade you don't help the schedulers fill any gaps, you're just flying a trip that already had a pilot fly it. So why would they need to pay you more if the contract doesn't even mention it. It doesn't help the company at all and ALPA didn't add it to our contract language. Legally I don't see why they have to.
You are supposed to get paid the face value of a trade that is flown. You’ll find that language if you search for it.
Having reserves is just a cost of doing business for any airline, because life happens. Also, a 2-hour callout isn’t exactly a home vacation.

Their names ought to be published on a list and distributed for all to see. Only mgmt pilots, instructors, and check airmen should be all-seat qualified. If you fly with one, send their name to the MEC/pro-stands for circumnavigating the entire pilot group.

If you pick a trip while on reserve be it trade board or opentime you can call/email and make sure they coded as something like OTM. It just has to be coded and then it'll be paid. I had trips that didn't get coded and I called back to have them adjust the code, they helped out. Been a while, but been there done that.

I can understand your motives on reporting them to the MEC, but I have a feeling what Pro Stands answer will be "So, what would you like us to do about it?". If you look at the message on the ALPA website, it specifically states that it does not handle grievance matters. I think the message was loud and clear on the MEC Communication.
BTW-not taking sides, just stating matters of fact as I see them.

Curious, really, what would Pro Stands do about this? If I understand their function correctly, that would not be part of it.

I can’t believe people actually said they wanna fly right away so they can “fly with their friends”. Are you F-ing kidding me!? I know we are a west coast airline but talk about broing down with your bros ehh

What a ridiculous, short sighted, nimble minded, toad sucking reason for a captain to pick up a fo open time trip.

I was pretty flabbergasted as well when I read that. If you want some friend bonding time, there's plenty of ways to do that outside of the cockpit and not at the expense of your junior peers.
