Interesting that nobody has brought up what they said in response to the question about career progression. I believe BG said they are talking two to three times a week with other airlines about career progression options for our pilots whether that is with a cargo company or maybe somewhere out in Hawaii. He said they are working on something but can't say names. I thought this would have instantly started up the rumor mill! TeaBag where are you at with the big announcement coming next friday?

Also flew with a very senior SLIP two weeks ago and they heard a deal is already done and just waiting to be announcement.

I'm wondering where to go as well. Have an offer from Envoy, interview with Compass soon, also considering Horizon. Then I see this huge jump in $ from Endeavor... where to go...

Stay away from Envoy then. I personally wouldn’t choose horizon just because of their issues of staffing and CXing flights due to staffing. Guess that just leave Compass

Pay is bound to go up elsewhere, not just 9E. We just announced our bonus, and hourly wage increase, then Republic matched that bonus overnight. 9E announces even better raises, setting a new bar. Won't be tomorrow, but I'd expect regionals to keep having to one up each other. Also, pay rates aren't the whole story. For example, how badly do you want to be NY based in a 200? Quick upgrade(as in, bypassing senior FOs who need to build time) means endless reserve. Every person has their own priorities. West coast base is more important to some, than pay rates. Buut I do suspect all regionals will need to dig deep into their pockets over the coming years.

Ready for a rant? I'm sick of all the complaining as of late... Ok here it goes...

I'm very happy at compass. Yes things are changing. Every airline is. Postponement of vacations? I get it, it's frustrating. But guess what, it's in the CBA... Ask your union and the group who voted in the TA why that clause is in there if you want someone to be mad at. Buckle your seatbelts, because if the hiring outlooks at majors are correct, Compass won't be the only one by years end...

As far as treatment from fellow employees, I literally couldn't expect more. So far, everyone I have dealt with, has been professional and understanding. I have worked at many multi billion dollar companies before coming here. Beleive it or not, on a personal level I feel that I am treated better here than any of those previous employers.

Take payroll for instance. There has been a lot of talk about payroll issues. In my experience, all issues have been corrected soon after I bring it up via email. All I do is explain the issue, provide supplemental info, and it's usually fixed very quickly. Sometimes it takes a few emails to get everything squared away. But in a few years years, I think I have had maybe 2 small issues like scheduling forgetting to flag something as critical, or adding taxi pay for an unscheduled surface movement. This is a vast improvement over companies I used to work for who couldnt process payroll correctly EVER. But all in all, I have never been cheated or wronged by this company. Side note, as I know someone will bring it up, rainmaker appears to have it's issues. But someone in payroll isn't sitting there trying to short change you and messing with it. Im sure there are valid comlaints out there, we do have a lot of grievances open. Mistakes do happen, and in my time, have been rectified within a business day or two. True greivances I have no expeirence with, and haven't had a need for one. The typical day to day items I have never had problems with. No management or department is perfect in any industry or company. We have many new hires in every department. Scheduling for example. Think they know the contract? Nope. Sometimes you have to politley remind them that what they are asking is against the CBA, and ask to talk to a super. I have only done that once. It was minor, and an honest mistake from a new scheduler. This will happen at every single airline you will ever be at. Remember that.

No we are not the highest paid regional pilots. Yes there are quicker upgrades elsewhere, kinda. But in reality, Compass has the most percentage of total movement. Largely because we have literally only a handful of lifers. Like 4....
3-4 years here equals top 10%-20% seniority. Movement is insane, all bases attainable. Upgrade time still low, not the lowest in the regionals. But 2 years isnt bad, and I suspect it will drop again as there is no end in sight to the attrition to major carriers. No super senior base, unlike other regionals that have 10 year captains sitting reserve... I'll take my 90 hours pay and 14 days off, and keep grinding until a major calls. It's sure a hell of a lot better than every job I have ever had. Period. This doesn't mean I don't want better results, I'm just simply stating my experiences thus far.

Be professional, do your job as your FOM and CBA says so. Don't like the hat? Tough. I don't like my tie, but guess what I wear it since it's part of the uniform this company has. Its that simple.
