Compass Updates - Saga Continues
#7991
Off topic, but I know many of us live and commute out of Vegas. If you know someone there please make sure they are ok. We may b**** and moan about our jobs but at the end of the day we are all a big fly family. Stay safe.

I do not yet work for Compass, however I may be headed out to msp very soon and then would have to js home. If I am not able to make an appointment to restore my medical to 1st class privelages before I head out can I still js on my lapsed first class?

You should be fine. Most guys that Jumpseat don’t even have an ATP when they Jumpseat during training they usually have a commercial so I’d assume it’s ok.

Well yeah I agree that you need a valid medical but he was specifically asking about first class privileges to ride the Jumpseat. My point of view is that many people ride the Jumpseat with just a commercial certificate during training and a commercial does not require a valid first class it requires a second class. So idk exactly how that one works that’s all I was saying.

you're best bet is to get it done before. I can't remember 100% as its been a few years, but I think on day 1 they took our certs and docs for photo copies so you'd want a valid medical for that anyway. Not to mention listing for a cockpit jumpseat means you are a crewmember so having no medical probably doesn't fly.

This is your best answer to be honest LOL this is a industry when in doubt always play it on the safe side. So he’s right just get it done. Sorry for giving you bad advice :/

You need a valid 1st or 2nd Class for the FDJ, because you are a XCM. Cabin Jumpseats (CP only) all you need is a valid ID badge. You'll get pass rider/standby privaleges on Day 1, meaning you might not even have to ask for a ride. If it does come down to asking for a ride, use the employee number (PPR# is worthless and a waste of badge space if you ask me).
