Seems almost every single 'problem' we are experiencing can be solved with filling classes. I guarantee the negative posts (like above) in this forum are impacting class numbers measurably.
This forum is the most negative place on the planet. When IOCC was released there were people here saying this airline is going under because they couldn't figure out how to do a trip trade... Qualified CFI applicants read these forums all day.
We still have around 11 pilots per airplane. We're in no danger of canceling flights for staffing, even if the pilot group refuse to help at all (sigh).
Sticking it to the company is nice and all but if Compass can't meet its contract requirements because we're "refusing to help clean up their mess" I'm sure OO would be more than willing to help DL complete those flights for us. Envoy is already foaming at the mouth for our Lax jets. I respectfully, and maybe naively, think this "don't help Compass at all; make the company learn the hard way" attitude would make more sense if we owned our airplanes or if we were, say, Spirit. But we aren't. I'm going to be here in 2020 and I personally plan on doing everything I can within reason to help my company succeed.
I dunno about you guys but all of our current "problems" sure beats the problems from 9 months ago.
These issues are temporary and now with the pay, base, and bonus should be easy to fix.

[QUOTE=ThePlaneSaidSo;2434169]No, you must retire your seniority at any other carrier before showing up for day one in MSP. Don't risk this because they do find out somehow and a guy from my class was fired for it and not eligible for re-hire..........errr.....now I'm sure he would be
I got a waiver from the chief. I still had one more trip to fly with my last company. I didn't even have to ask. The HR lady was just like,"Yeah, it's ok. He said so. "
Can't believe we have so many "negative" posts in a row...OMG guyssss. When are the white knights of the compass table gonna come in and admonish us for "talking bad about the company" or "scaring away potential new hires"? What's the matter white knights? Did the last conference call finally make you see the light? Or maybe it was when they cancelled your vacation? The 2nd illegal new hire bonus in two years? No? No it wasn't? It seems to me, that the white knights went into hiding as soon as the CAs were asked to take the precious flying away from the white knights. Sad! Anyway, who's buying me a beer?
Spoke too soon....

Wow!
It’s sad to see such a negative connotation in every part of this thread. It’s been a long time since I have looked at this portal, and now I know why I haven’t looked recently.
Some of us can see past the petty nature and gossip mongering that this platform provides for those that require venting over the minutia of day today. Sadly, it appears that the sophomoric tendencies of others believe that their message will carry the day.
Although this job has its challenges, we are all very fortunate to be in the industry at this time. The opportunities that are beginning to unfold, the compensation and quality of life that has become the norm is truly incredible.
For the sake of those who are new to the industry, And for some reason find these forums to try to sort out their thoughts, let’s keep that mind and focus on the matters that truly do matter.
Hang in there guys, this is a great ride it’s only going to get better.

Haha ! Bud, of course not. It's not November yet. It might happen; it might not. I just think we DO have to acknowledge the not so good things going on (or that have been threatened to potentially go on here per company memo).

Don't get me wrong, I cannot defend the corporate greed in the level of opportunism that occurred during these events.
However, compared with these issues, our speed bumps are tiny.
This isn't a chess of us versus them or an episode of office space where we just all decide to let the place burn down.
I'm not saying that we should just roll over at every turn but it's pretty evident that we have a vested interest to make this place a success as long as were here.
It truly is a "united we stand or divided we fall".

Not so good? Have you spoken to anybody from the big three who went through the furlough and consolidation cycles? How about the pilots who lost everything during bankruptcy?
