If this is true...that's f-ing evil.
Yup they wanted to screw him and send a warning to any other pilots contemplating making a latteral move (during the stagnation). It wouldn't be on an aviation record like PRIA to my knowledge, but it would definitely make any subsequent interviews difficult. Fortunately ALPA had the firing overturned.

They did fire a guy here who put in two weeks notice to go to SkyWest, then the Union had the firing overturned. I think there is bad blood between Compass and SkyWest.

I'd avoid another latteral move to a regional (one latteral move is ok, multiple looks bad), you should try Spirit and Allegiant if you are living in Vegas. Or do an ACMI that will buy you tickets to and from home to your domicile. Kalitta does not charge imputed income, Atlas does, but either way they buy you a ticket...no space available/jumpseating to worry about.
what was the alleged grounds for termination. That seems like a very shortsighted thing for the company to do that could bite them on the butt.

As always there are three sides to every story...

Once I bumped a SkyWest guy. Apparently it's a relic of the days when Compass was Delta exclusive. At least that's what a gate agent said at the time, it was almost a year ago.

Nothing beats getting left behind on our own metal because there are only first class seats available and AA buddy pass riders (eligible for first class) get on instead. Oh well,we ended up getting on Southwest a few hours later.

Whenever some one claims some got terminated for x ridiculous reason I am immediately dubious.

Same. When called out about it, veewan said he saw it on Facebook...

Typical game of telephone-I heard it from someone who heard it from someone who heard and saw it from someone non important. By the time it gets to us, its been distorted so much that you don't know the truth.

That said-I m firmly in the camp that he was well within his probationary period and did something stupid, and THAT was the grounds for termination and not leaving for Skywest. Plenty of people have made the move if you look at our attrition, and there hasn't been an outcry to the Union for help because they are making a lateral move and were terminated for it.
