I would say not THAT hard since they signed a flow agreement with our sister company. Still I wouldn't call it easy... Certainly not on the level as going to a ffd carrier, but easier than someplace like southwest.

From what I've heard, not yet - but it takes a bit to spread the news. I think Compass fell behind and tried to salvage itself 6 months too late.
They are now offering expedited hiring to people coming in from mil or other 121 carriers and have since removed the written test at the interview for those candidates. Some are getting offers with just their airlineapps submissions.
I don't think we'd be in such bad shape if it wasn't due to the amount of our FOs that have jumped **** laterally. Imagine being that guy stuck at 90% seniority for over a year here, and then they announce a $17500 bonus you won't see. They'll leave to another regional and blame their stint at Compass to bad timing. The $17.5k bonus was a double edged sword. It's actually making current junior FOs on property that have been on reserve for 9-12+ months leave.
We're losing more than we are able to hire. I wouldn't be surprised to see management up their offer even further before the end of the year, maybe finally announce a retention bonus and/or a flow with someone.

Now if they are leaving because they are able to live in base by departing Compass I get it. Imagine a MSP based FO that really wants to live in base, they do benefit quite a bit by jumping to Endeavor (plus they get a bonus and the carrot of a preferential interview via E to D). A LAX based guy who lives in SoCal that jumps, in my mind is not making a good decision if it's purely to spite the company for not paying them. Now if a LA FO goes to an Allegiant, they get a pay bump, quick upgrade and new type with the insurance policy that should anything happen they'll still top out over $220/hr, that makes sense.
Right now I'm betting we're losing more to attrition than we can hire, only because people are moving to companies that better align with their long term goals. For most of the captains, that's their career airline (legacy, major or cargo outfit), for FOs I'm thinking we'll see less attrition to other regionals now that there's upward movement, reserve time will drop and upgrades will increase. There's always going to be people that make a lateral move.

I don't have a class date, but I have talked to a bunch of pilots and a couple union guys in the past about this and they've all told me the same thing. No degree, in base, and prior 121 looks really good because you have experience, but the company knows a major won't call so you're likely to stay for a while.

The new hire bonus isn't making any of the junior FOs leave. If anything, it's more incentive to stay because we know there's finally going to be some new hires. If we were going to leave we should have left in january. Why leave now when the company is trying to hire 40 a month to pile in beneath us, and is taking steps to make that happen?
What kind of spoiled person would say "oh, now the new guys will make more than me? That's it, I quit!" Then spend another 7+ months interviewing, training, and sitting reserve when we could hold a line here by then
