I guess so. Seems that's 76% to get off reserve. When I looked at LA in march it was like 60% to hold a line, so that's nice to see reserves are trimming.
Any new hires or guys in training lurking here? Would love to hear from you about what's going on in the training department

I'm a high seniority FO still waiting on upgrade after two years. I have no college degree. Do y'all think it's worth it to upgrade here or jump ship to Spirit (I live in a base) while it's a lateral pay move? The whole potential strike thing over there is scaring me, but it's a gamble with their possible new contract. Any advice?

If you are really close and have no prior PIC then wait for the upgrade. Things are going to move really fast here again first of the year and through 18'

I missed the degree part, stay at CP, upgrade, get your degree online. There are plenty of programs where you can complete a B.S. in 2 years now. By that point you'll have 1,000 121 PIC, prolly be a check airmen, and have the B.S. you're gold then.

If you don't have a class date, I'd say take the upgrade here and apply to Spirit. When you've got a class date you can make the decision to go or wait until after a strike- they'll let you pick a date in the future, every airline gets that you might not want to start class in 15 days or less and that's your only option. Yes they are a ULCC, but they need to attract talent too, their partnership with GoJet is the first sign of desperation. My bet is you see them with Southwest rates, how long that will take, I'm not sure, but my guess is you'll see them strike first but it won't be for very long.

Do you have a class date with Spirit? Living in base makes this job a whole different world so it might be better for you to head over there to complete your degree (if you so desire). One thing to consider is the cost for you to obtain the degree vs how much extra income you might make at a legacy, if you foresee yourself spending more than it'll return that would be an issue (why take on debt, to first have to pay it off before you see a ROI, when you can put the money into a 401k and have a bigger retirement even with a lower income). I'm not knocking a college degree, but it's worth sitting down and crunching the numbers.

this second paragraph is a solid point and the one I was going to make. Going to spirit now is a risky move. Wait until things start looking better with their contract talks. Being a probationary new hire at a carrier with a striking pilot group is NOT a good position to be in.
Is spirit even that easy to go to? I e talked to FOs and CAs here that have applied and haven't gotten a call from them. Not sure what's in their background but just saying
