Hate to change the subject briefly from the complete lack of planning, thinking, common sense, and just utter disregard for employees that CP has. But has anybody used the FedEx shipping benefits we get? Do you just show your crew badge and does it have to be an actual FedEx facility or any ship center that sends FedEx? Thanks!

To change the subject again, PIREP on the Automatic Weight and Balance
We were an AUTO Weight and Balance Test flight today. Overall worked pretty well, we had an Assistant CP and someone else basically up there with us on the phone talking to DL SOC in Atlanta during the whole process. We sent off our RWY Request and TO-FOB as soon as we got our ATIS and knew what our planned Fuel was. About 10 mins later the bags were all loaded. Ramper came up with the CLR, and about 10 seconds later we go the Cargo Load MSG on ACARS and the Loadsheet populated with the correct bag count. When the flight was closed the total SOBs matched the FA count and it even autopopulated the Jumps-eater we had sitting up front with us. The one thing it did mess up was that even with the total number of PAX being correct, the sections were off by a few numbers due to upgrades that occurred during the boarding process. So that became a manual change we did and sent off. Other than that it worked pretty well, it was explained to me that the new software runs some crazy algorithm where it calculates the odds of a PAX moving seats/sections and takes that into consideration for WB/CG. Anyway it looks pretty slick but expect a lot of checklist changes down the pipe to accommodate all this.

Honestly if you're so worried about how this place is going, stop playing chicken little. The news lately has been more good than bad with the exception of the vacation thing which may or may not happen. If we hire, it won't be an issue. Yes it sucks but get over it and stop scaring new hires away from what is honestly a mostly good airline with some issues and a lack of planning. I'm still very happy here and it's an easy job.
