...and here I thought the CA who I spoke to in the jet bridge then turned and walked back on and turned the batteries and emergency lights off was weird.

Please stop turning off the APU. Thanks...
I always look for crews taking the plane but if you don't come down the jet-bridge pretty quick then I'm shutting it down. Some crews wait at the top till we get off the plane.

I know I'm not at my old airline anymore but crews always went down as soon and they could there and we almost always waiting. At Compass some crews take forever to come down and would rather talk up top in the gate house for a long time. I prefer to go down asap to deal with any potential hold-ups and make sure the plane isn't shut down.

Really, what are you potentially talking about 5 minutes? I agree it's nice when the crew that brings it in checks to see when it's going out again and leaves the airplane accordingly. But it's not the end of the world

It's more the hour plus delays that occur due to failures during the restarts

5 minutes can make a BIG difference when you have a 30 minute turn with a crew swap. If you're 1 minute late it's still considered late in this industry. That's the sad part so an extra 5 minutes never hurts and it makes a difference.

I agree, if your not at the bottom of the jet ridge by the time we and our slow FAs get off the plane then I'm shutting her down, but not to black unless the ground power doesn't work. Not sure why so many crews stay at the top talking, weird.

Well yeah I guess I assumed that was common sense. Don't leave an unattended APU running. Some station ask for you to keep the APU running but they have someone there to attend it.

But I'm all about keeping the APU running if the next crew is at the top or bottom of the jet bridge waiting to take it.

Completely understandable. If there is a crew right there waiting to get on then ya, leave her up and running. But if myself and the rest of the crew gets off the plane and there is no crew in sight, she is getting shut down, but again not to black. Just the APU

agreed. If I have time I may walk up and check and see if the next crew is there. But I probably won't. Im probably busy helping the FAs get their crap done so we can all get off. If you are there and want the APU on. It's on you to make it known you're around.

Kind of related PSA. If you are standing around tapping your foot while seat belts are still being crossed and getting ****ed the girls are taking forever... You're not being part of the solution.

Exactly, if you don't want to help cross the seat belts and help your FA's out that is fine, it's not part of our job. But don't stand there getting angry or b$&@h about it.
