From what I've seen it'll still take nearly a full year for a bottom-lister like myself to hold any line, even at the most junior base. So if Republic could train me and get me a line out of LGA or EWR in 6 months total... that still saves me 6 months of sitting reserve at CPZ. But knowing my luck as soon as I switch Compass will win 20 airplanes and republic will go under. I came for the fast movement and SEA base and it seems like since my first day here it's been bad news. Not sure what to think but can't help regretting coming here
The reason I would suggest moving to another carrier is you would only be taking the same action of those who come on here to say stay put rather than following their example. They left seeking opportunity, and actions speak louder than words. If they felt leaving somewhere was a good move, why isn't it a good move for you?
I am not suggesting that someone leaves here to jump around, but rather do what is necessary to build your resume (250 hours in 12 months is something, but you could be flying 80 hours a month). Research your move carefully. Ask other pilots for facts, not opinions. Opinions can be helpful, but if you want to know how long reserve actually is elsewhere ask a line pilot, not a recruiter.

The major problem with more SEA flying is gate space... and Delta rumor the C series coming to the west coast... that could push some Ejets more East..

So you have to decide what is most important to you. You mentioned living in SEA and your SO wants to be there too. So if you stay at CPZ, you will be able to get SEA pretty soon. Even if you are reserve in SEA, you can pick up trips to build time and you can enjoy being home when sitting reserve. Trust me, a crashpad is not as much fun, even if you have unlimited HBO!! We have had min of 15 pilots leave every month, some months more, so you will move up. If building flight time fast is more important than where you live, then maybe going to another company is better for you. But just one word of advise, the grass is not always greener on the other side!!

anyone J/S on Kalitta from LAX to HNL and back?
where do you go to checkin?
I know they do a daily flight back and forth as Pacific Air Cargo, do you know the flight times?
you can PM me if you don't want to post it

No idea where check in is, but I imagine if you list, they can tell you.

A great resource for jumpseating is the alpa app if you don't have it, covers listing procedures for most airlines pretty good.. but for Kalitta if you go to their website and look for supernumerary travel you'll find the form you need to fill out and either fax or email in. Needs to be done at least 24 hours prior. The flight leaves every morning around 03:00 (get there early cause they'll leave early if the cargo is loaded and ready) except for Sunday and Monday morning. You meet the ground crew over by the Cathay pacific cargo area just off century blvd and they drive you to the plane. Haven't been on the 400 yet but the old ones were pretty comfortable and the crews were always real nice! Good luck!
