You are absolutely allowed to drop all of your reserve days when on a buildup line. Be aware if you do that and don't pick up trips you will not be paid guarantee.
We need to enforce our contract or this crap will continue to happen. Most of the people in Scheduling don't know our contract.
If you are on reserve, I suggest you read the reserve sections of the contract. Then when you call and they say you can't do that, ask for a Supervisor and politely tell them that section xx of the contract says I can drop the trips. If they still say no, make sure you get their name and then report it to the union.

I was wondering what compass lines look like for lax? I know that the lines on the american side for the regional carriers out of dfw aren't too favorable. Also I read earlier that the guys have been on reserve for 8 months. Is that starting to change? What about MSP closing? Will those planes be split between SEA and LAX?
All MSP planes are moving out west where Delta wants them. Rumor is they plan to add a lot of SEA flights. But no word yet from a Delta.
My guess if you are a new hire this summer you could pick LAX or SEA out of training.

Reserve is always a moving target at the regionals. What it looks like today does not mean it will be the same 6 months from now. I will be 7 months in May, and I'm close to a line.

You need to call the union immediately.

So.........I went down this road during my battles, there's some post on this very subject somewhere back a ways. But can you provide actual documentation from the CBA for this? Because the only thing I can find is 25.(h) which states that Build-Up line holders can SWAP RSV days. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any proof that they can be dropped per the contract despite everybody and their brother telling me that you can? Again, I think they finally just got fed up with me and gave in, lol
"e. Trip Drops
(1) Pilots may drop a Trip(s), provided the Pilot’s Scheduled Credit Time does not fall below 37:30, except that a CDO or build-up Pilot may not drop more than 50% of the total scheduled Duty Periods (as of the end of SCP). For purposes of this subparagraph e., (i) Duty Periods scheduled to commence in one month and end in the following month will be counted in the month in which the Duty Period was scheduled to begin, and (ii) Credit Time for a Trip scheduled to commence in one month and end in the following month will be counted in the month in which it is scheduled, with minimum Duty Period credit for such Trip handled pursuant to Section 4.B.2."

What? No you can't. FLICA allowed you to do this only because of a glitch and CS couldn't do anything about it so they looked the other way. Nowhere in the contract does it say that we can drop our reserve days (and be payed below guarantee) - so if you have the verbage, please share it. Is this on some kind of a LOA?

Contract question: CS called me off ready reserve last night for a STL turn and we ended up getting back to MSP at 3am this morning. Today is supposed to be my last day of reserve, so they have me on a rap from 1400-1800. The captain was pretty adamant that I shouldn't have to be on reserve today since I already had an assignment that went into today and today is my last day, but couldn't find it in the contract. Are they right? Or is the 4 hours of reserve I have later today legit?
