It's been closer to 18/mo since January comparing the two seniority lists... and there are so many people with pending class dates as the majors are really continuing to ramp up hiring, Hawaiian and Spirit have their new more valuable TA's, etc... that's what my math is based on. And an assumption that you can probably upgrade around 55% as some people won't. As soon as these new hire classes hit the line, those reserves won't be reserves anymore.

I would inturperate what he is saying as 55% seniority company wide to upgrade. I would call it 60% to upgrade into LAX.

Correct, maybe even higher... you need more CA than you do FO, it's not truly 50% and not everybody takes it the second they can. Additionally, more project pilots, MEC reps, instructors, and other management pilot are non-flying CA, and then CA have more vacation time due to higher longevity (although of course our CA longevity isn't that high, but it's still more.) So yes, at 60% global, you can probably go be the plug in LAX no problem.

It depends on what you mean by "senior". More new hires were getting MSP than Seattle before we stopped hiring, but you'll be on reserve longer in MSP and if you want to stay in MSP as a captain you'll wait to upgrade longer than any other base. That's the way I see it anyway. You could hold MSP out of training most likely, but you'll be on reserve for a while.
