Its kinda funny actually. When we first got the iPads we were told to alter the position of the clipboard forward due to an increase in iPads shattering from sunshades. Guess we shall see the uptick in broken iPads going forward.

well things aren't looking too good for the MSP base anyway with the loss of the 170. It's shrinking. Not an airline to come to if you want MSP.

Most of the 170s were placed in the MSP system. With those leaving that means less flying out of MSP which requires less pilots. It's our most senior base so there's less movement. No one is prevented from moving up, it's just slower.

I invite you to visit compassairline.com and see haha... The pilot group is great. Pay isn't terrible, not the best, not the worst. The 175 is a great plane. LAX and SEA as bases and even MSP if you want a midwest base (eventually). Going to work is fun and mosts are very positive so it makes for a fun time. Upgrade times are going to shorten again and we will be hiring at full blast once again later this summer. It's all relative so if you ask me what Compass has to offer and someone else you'll get different answers. I like it here and I wouldn't discourage anyone from applying. I'm not a negative-Nancy. Find the silver lining in all situations.

Ok, what does Compass do that SkyWest doesn't do better (from the perspective of a prospective new hire)? They have literally everything Compass has that you just mentioned, but with a less uncertain future, better pay, and without the ongoing calamity that is IOCC. Plus, they own their airplanes and they're growing and we're losing the airplanes Delta lets us fly and we're shrinking.

Look, I like it here too for the time being, but there is not ONE single reason for anyone new to want to come here now. That isn't being a negative nancy, that's being realistic.

Management spotted.. that said the doom and gloom in this thread in the last two pages is just a little bit overboard. It's gotten pretty bad on a lot of fronts, but it's not that bad.

I spoke with a current Compass FA that started at TSA was furloughed, made the move to GoJet and is now at Compass for the LA base.

She said that working for Compass is pretty much the same as working for TSA or GoJet but just different equipment, bases and generally younger flight deck crews. She also said Trans States is very disorganized. Managed to get pay checks from GoJet and Compass simultaneously even though she was no longer working at GoJet, but at Compass she has been shorted pay.

So to a prospective new hire looking at Compass I'd say if you think GoJet or TSA are places you'd go but you want to be West coast based come on over.

Yes flight attendants and pilots are different, but it's worth seeing what people have to say.

Is some stuff on here overly negative, sure, but there are facts buried in the opinions. Can you come to Compass and benefit, of course, but weigh the pros and cons, do some serious research and base your decision on the facts you collect.

Lol everyone being so dramatic.

Compass has had a few bumps and it's made a lot of 23 year olds worried about their first regional airline choice.

Plenty of guys who have flown for other airlines can still attest that Compass is night and day from their previous employer. I won't understate that it does seem TSH is making a conscious effort to bring everything down to the Gojet level, but if you live in one of the bases, stay off the message boards and show up to work to fly, you'll definitely enjoy your time at Compass.

Agreed. Things really aren't THAT bad here but still it still begs the question of what do we have to attract new hires? I can't really see anything now. Maybe that will change, but right now we really offer nothing.
