Been sitting ready reserve a lot in LAX with little flying. How much ready is everyone else getting per month? I'm on a 3 day silo. With two days in a row of ready.

P.Rescheduling Which Extends a Duty Period (Extension Segments)
1.With respect to a rescheduling which extends a Pilot’s duty beyond the scheduled termination of a Duty Period, and which is made to the Pilot’s schedule after departure of the last Flight in such Duty Period, it is recognized that, in order for the rescheduling to be effective, the Pilot must be actually notified of the extension prior to the Release Time of such Duty Period. In most circumstances, such actual notification will be accomplished by means of ACARS messages, voice radio contact, phone contact (not to include voicemail or text) or face-to-face conversation between the Pilot and a person designated by the Company to directly notify the Pilot.
2.In the case of an ACARS message notifying the Pilot of the rescheduling, the rescheduling must be acknowledged in a return ACARS message by the Pilot in order for “actual notification” to have occurred. The ACARS message will notify the Pilot of the extension of duty beyond the previously scheduled termination of the Duty Period and then direct the Pilot to contact Crew Scheduling upon landing to obtain the details. The Pilot shall acknowledge such ACARS message, unless operational considerations do not permit a response. It is understood that, in the case of ACARS messaging (which will not normally include all details of the rescheduling), (i) the Pilot will be provided with the details of the rescheduling upon landing via the Company’s electronic Crew Scheduling system or via voice contact with Crew Scheduling, and (ii) the rescheduling assignment is subject to review by the Pilot for FAR and contract compliance.
3.Should “actual notification” not be accomplished, (i) such Pilot will be deemed to have begun his rest and shall not be required to report for any duty until at least the conclusion of required minimum rest and (ii) any rescheduling that may have been done by the Company shall be “corrected” to reflect the Pilot’s commencement of rest, and the Pilot shall have no claim of right to the Flying so removed from his schedule.
The moral of this story is that if you do not get an ACARS in flight and there is no company designated representative to greet you after the flight to tell you to call scheduling, DO NOT respond to any voice mails as you are not required to do so or better yet wait 15 minutes before turning on your phone. A voice mail to call does not qualify as "contact" and should be ignored unless you want to help dig these guys out of yet another hole they created.
Lots of new people in CS who have no idea what they are doing. It's our contract, let's use what we can to our advantage.

Here is the CBA regarding duty day extensions. CH 25, Section P, paragraphs 1-3.

Jetdoc explained it about as easy as he could. It can't be dumbed down anymore. If you're in the airplane and the door isn't popped (meaning technically still in flight), you must acknowledge the ACARS message. If the door is popped (flight is over), you have not been notified. You don't have to respond, call back, send a messenger bird, send an email or anything. Keep it simple folks. In flight, ACARS is considered notification. Anything outside of that; while not on a RAP; is all on you if you want to be notified of changes or additional flying.

Negative. AA is proposing to do an SFO shuttle which would operate out of T5 but nothing has been finalized. The Eagles Nest bus now leaves from T5 instead of T6.

New hire questions..
Would a new hire just coming on line in MSP expect to get any flying while on reserve?
Also, the training department has not taught us anything about:
-PBS
-FLICA
-viewing or interpreting schedules
-trip trading
-open time
-Reserve scheduling
-Lufthansa IOCC (still cant access this or PBS or FLICA)
-Crew Scheduling (this was presented, but is was "The fastest I have ever presented this to any class ever")
-etc.
As someone with no prior 121 experience, I have to say I'm worried about getting out of training and having no idea how to view/access/understand any of this. Im aware of the APLA PBS guide, but are there any other resources that explain this well, and is some of this decrypted in IOE?
Thanks
