Any LAX folks care to share some wisdom with me? I have my first show out of LAX at 06:25 tomorrow, I know nothing about this airport so just wondering how much time I should give myself to get from the commuter hotel, Hampton I think, to the gate?? Much appreciated!!

I thought I read in our cba something about they need to notify you within 15 mins of blocking in for another assignment. This could be done via acars, a phone call or rep. I will have to try and look or maybe someone else on here knows better...?

Well, you're not required to have a phone once on an assignment, so throw the phone call aspect out. ACARS? How when you've left the cockpit and the door has been popped? After the last pax is off and everything is done, I'm gone. I certainly don't have to sit in the cockpit to see if they've sent me a message. A rep? Sure, but I've never seen one. Bottom line, in over a year of reserve after i upgraded, the only time they got me was via ACARS while still flying. They know this. Doesn't mean they'll try outside of it, but you're under no obligation to answer your phone. If you want to be "abused", by all means, call them and be proactive.

I found this discussion about duty and being contactable helpful. Especially when quotes from the cba are being thrown around

Maybe I've missed it, but has there been updates on pilots taking any short term leaves of absence? I still see a lot of critical pay emails and I don't get a feeling we are completely over staffed (according to TSH standards). Does anyone know of a pilot that took a leave?

This policy of being able to control your phone is nothing new, it has been a corporate policy for years. And why I never get company email on my devices.
Same behavior for me. I set up company email via Gmail, and just now received a notification that the company server requests remote administrator access to my phone. It wants to be able to do about a dozen actions, the best one being remotely erasing the device without warning. You can guess my answer to that
I don't think the Office365 app will help. I already got this behavior on Outlook and Gmail apps. This is clearly a server issue. Now I just wonder if it's somebody's mistake in configuring something, or the company really wants to do this.
