rumors are fun, but as my old college professor said,
"the universe runs on math"

so looking through the CP newsletters here are the actual attrition numbers for the last 7 months
Jul-11/7
Aug-15/4
Sept-8/3
Oct-16/3
Nov-10/2
Dec-6/3
(Jan-7/5 but not final yet)

CA/FO- 73/27
or total=100

current seniority list has 842
so 11.8% for last 7 months

average of 14.2 pilots each month
average of 10.4 CAs each month
and 3.8 FOs each month

so all that talk of "high attrition in the fall" and "we have 20 or more a month leaving", is not quit true.

on the good side, we have about 10 pilots per plane, so with 6 planes leaving, that is 60 less pilots needed.
but we should lose that many in 2017 before we lose the first 2 airplanes.

I haven't had a chance to work with it yet. Spent all day today on a rap with no call...technically. Scheduling might have been having a hard time of it today. Not so smooth. Every single time ive had the pleasure to talk with dispatch or scheduling the last few days it sounds like they are drowning in a sea of bull**** with this new software. Nothing is working the way its supposed to.

I'm not saying it's buttery smooth, but it's certainly no stormy night on the North Sea. This could have been MUCH worse.

Almost a day and a half during cutover without a controllable cancel..so there's that I suppose

This conference call makes me nervous. They don't seem to think blowing the slides to avoid a fine is a big deal, and there's no concern for the captain.

I'd really like to know what action the union is taking to protect pilots from management.
